“Avoid if you have the choice”
Reviewed August 14, 2012

We stayed here for three nights in August 2012 and can summarise our stay as follows:
Our Double Room was small but clean. The bathroom was the size of two telephone boxes but (unlike Dr Who's Tardis) was really small. The shower smelt musty and was mouldy and not a pleasant experience at all. The drinking water tap is separate from the main water system. All very dodgy!!
Our room overlooked Birkenhead Street which is close to Euston Road/Pentonville Road. The noise was terrible all night long with police cars, traffic and youths shouting outside. Not very nice at all.
In terms of catering, I am embarrassed to say that visitors to Britain must think we are all terrible cooks and that we hate our food. The toast was un-toasted, the 'juice' was actually like orange squash (i.e. weak), the bacon and sausages dried, the ketchup watered down and the tea/coffee showing no signs of taste of flavour. We saw most other guests turn their noses up in disgust at the breakfast and we ended up buying a decent breakfast elsewhere. This was rounded off with the very unfriendly attitude of the kitchen staff Yuk!!
And finally...The cost: We felt that we had been robbed for the price we paid and would only recommend this hotel to our worst enemies. Our advice: Avoid like the plague.

Room Tip: Try another hotel. All rooms are noisy.

Dear Robin

Thank you for your feedback.

Im not sure what you mean when you say it is dodgy that the drinking water is on a different system to the main water system. The main water system is not drinking water so the 2 systems have to come from 2 different taps to provide the drinking water in the second tap. We do have double glazing but being on a main road in a very central location you will hear some noise from the traffic. We are a budget bed and breakfast hotel. You stayed over the Olympic period where prices were higher but during the non-olympic period our rates are much lower. With our breakfast we do not water ketchup down. We offer a full english buffet breakfast and many of our guests actually complement us on our breakfast.

Regards

Spent £150 on this hotel because it was Olympics otherwise I wouldn't spend £10 on this hotel. Doors were thin our room was over looking a take away kitchen so if the curtain was open they would peer in! Found a condom under the bed! Stained sheets and pubic hair on the towels!! The cleaner walked in 3 hours before we had to be out to clean when we were still in bed!! The shower was a hole with a tap pretty much and the room was the smallest room I've ever been in! My feet hung off the end of the bed!! So noisey(expected but not until 4am!!) no milk to go with complementary tea/coffee! And there's no carpets all tile (very shabby tile) so when feet were wet very slippy decided against trying breakfast because it will of been just as bad!! If I had paid £20 It would have been worth it!!

Thank you for your feedback.

The room you actually stayed was only newly refurbished 2 months ago with a brand new room and brand new bathroom. The window over looking the restaurant is actuallly to the side of the room so unless you actually walk up to the window there is no way the restaurant can look into the room (also because the restaurant is one floor below). The price you paid was higher because you stayed over the Olympic period but the rooms are cheaper over non-Olympic periods. We have whiteners with the tea/coffee making facilities instead of milk.

We only have tiles in the bathroom (not carpet) for obvious reasons but if you felt the tiles were slippery we do provide bath towels in the bathroom to put on the floor.

Its a shame you missed breakfast because guests always complement our breakfasts at the hotel.

Didn't expect deluxe accommodations, but the room was very tiny, with an even tinier bathroom. Good thing we didn't spend a lot of time indoors. Otherwise it was fine for what we needed.

Good for a city trip (by King Cross Station). Rooms are small but clean. Old furniture. The breakfast is included and ok. Wifi Internet only at the reception. In the rooms there is no connection. Anyway good value for the money.

An amazing view from or window of Pancreas hotel. Not sure if many other rooms would have the same. Building is very out dated from pictures on brochures. Decently clean. Only one person on the lift at a time, poor door locks. Don't feel comfortable leaving anything in the room. Noisy loud out side all night. People screaming obsinitys at each other and sirens running by all night. Only reason to stay is to catch the eurostar early from Pancreas.

Hello

Thank you for your feedback.

I can reassure you the security of our hotel rooms are very safe. We have never had security problems in the hotel before. We also have a 24 hour reception and CCTV at the hotel.

The hotel is very convenient for those catching the Eurostar and for exploring London in general due to the fantastic central location.

Regards

Hotel is near the King Cross station , so for my travel in london it was convenient. Room is small but clean. Bathroom is really small. Had to do some small acrobatic stunts to sit on the toilet :)
Breakfast was good, but not much of a spread, we had the same menu for 4 days there.
Overall its decent and ok. Staffs are friendly and helpful.
