I am a diehard Aussie fan of west ham, and I've been to a few games in my travels over the years. The most recent game I saw was the 2-2 draw against Man Utd in the FA Cup on Jan 5, 2013.
It's always a great pleasure to exit Upton Park tube and walk down Green street on a match day past all the food and merch vans, it's a great atmosphere. Not to mention a pre match pint at either the Boleyn or Queens pubs.
The match in question was Easily the best game I've been to for atmosphere, goals and quality of football. It's always a hair raising moment to sing Bubbles when the teams come out and always fun to drown out the away fans in the corner of the Trevor Brooking lower.
West ham enjoy cult status around the world because of the hooligan lads back in the day and also our fine production line of top talent we have been turning out for decades now. So if you are in London wondering about an unpretentious, un-clichéd, authentic London experience you can brag about to your mates back home (and no Harrods or the Church doesn't even come close) then look no further.
