This was such a tasty place to eat. We ate there almost every morning that we were in london and would not have wanted it any other way. There are many different options for different palettes. I think we tried everything on the menu and did not find anything we disliked other than the orange juice (according to the family. I dont drink orange juice anyways). We were not fortunate to try this during the day for food, but next time we go to london I would like to try a non breakfast meal there.

Wanting a change from the reliably good Betjeman Arms at St Pancras, we ventured over the road on the basis of recent Tripadvisor reviews. The mismatch between the surroundings and the food is startling, I would normally walk past the plate glass doors and garish colours which look as if they would grace a kebab joint. Inside is not exactly cosy, but spacious, with big benches (some concrete) or tables to sit at and multicoloured walls which I might have liked more if I was a couple of decades younger. The menu is pleasingly short, but varied and interesting. Starter of scallop ceviche with bright green avocado vinaigrette wasn't exactly generous, but impressively tasty - the smoked salmon and bayonne ham my partner chose was more generous, and also good (but why no bread offered?). Mains looked interesting and exceeded expectations on the plate - smoked mash could overwhelm a perfectly cooked piece of cod, lifted further by a well judged mix of samphire and leek, but everything combined to make a memorably satisfying meal. Tagliatelle with girolles had proper ingredients. Jay Rayner wasn't happy about puddings but we were - affrogato is a brilliant way to finish a meal when you're a bit full, and my wife scoffed the hazlenut parfait with enthusiasm. The wine list is good and reasonly proced, and they serve sherry in decent glasses; loos upstairs are smart. This place serves very good food indeed, delivering more on flavour than you might expect; I wish I lived near enough to get through the rest of the menu.

Don't know how they provide this quality of food at these prices - cannot wait to go back. Professional and informative staff; great living walls; short menu but still hard to decide what to order; caters equally well for carnivores or vegetarians! Superb courgette flowers on an amazing watermelon base followed by excellent fishcakes, beautifully seasoned and full of flavour. Friends enjoyed their soup and fois gras and gnocchi. Stayed 4 hours then enjoyed their cocktail bar in the basement for another 2 hours! ps generous Fois Gras portion for £ 5 - best value in London!

Had dinner with hubby and 11 month old baby. Came early so only one other table, we wanted to eat quickly and go to bed as we just arrived from Australia. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, our waiter brought us a high chair and came to talk to our bubba a couple times.
We had scallop ceviche, gnocchi and baked cod, which was cooked to perfection. Lovely subtle flavours with the cod, excellent flavour combinations with ceviche and gnocchi, perfectly seasoned also. Absolutely delicious meal- would come again

It's kind of funky and casual inside, with various wooden tables and a young atmosphere. Not like your normal hotel restaurant. The food is excellent, kind of modern European. Try the Karpo bar downstairs for a cocktail too - very groovy, painted all in black.
