“Amazing Apartment. Amazing and understanding staff. Would recommend!”
Reviewed January 2, 2013

We planned on staying at Fraser place for one night, as soon as we got there we fell in love with the place! Our room was on the 8th floor with perfect views of the o2 arena and docklands. We had two balconies, just like we had asked for. The rooms are very modern, I would say they are simple but just right for me! Each room we had also has a docking station which was great.

Unfortunately due to some unforeseen circumstances we had to cut our trip short and was only at the apartment for one hour. Saddened by our short stay we emailed Fraser place to see if there was anyway we could re-book our stay. The person who emailed me back, I believe his name is Ivo was so friendly and understanding and I was so pleased to know that Fraser Place have such wonderful staff!

We will be going back to Fraser Place to enjoy our stay properly and this time will hopefully make use of all the facilities! I would certainly recommend Fraser Place to anybody, the location is also great!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review, even after a very short stop at Fraser Place. I have been copied in on your correspondence with Ivo and I hope you will soon find a suitable date to come and stay here for longer than an hour. We look forward to welcome you back to enjoy a night stay with us.

Kind regards,

Stayed here twice now. On e in the suite, and once, an executive room. Rooms have recently been refurbished, and so are modern and clean. Slightly smaller than we would like , but most people here would not be spending much time in the rooms. Sky tv, iPod docks, coffee makers, fridge freezers all present. Beds are comfy. Would recommend stating as high as possible for the views. Absolutely stunning of canary wharf, especially at night . 3-7 (depending on how fast you walk)to either canary wharf stations, or Blackwell DLR. we thought a little bit pricey for what they are , but in comparison to some of the prices of the hotels near worth trying out. Especially if you happy to self cater.

We stayed in a two bedroom apartment over the Christmas break. The apartment is of good size but some of the two bedroom apartments (the larger ones) overlook the road leading to Canary Wharf and are not well insulated from a noise perspective so the traffic noise can be pretty loud especially with all the investment bankers roaring along with the sports cars. The smalle two bedroom overlook the marina and is much quieter and is well worth the trade off unless you can sleep through anything. Everything is catered for in the apartment. It is not as clean as it should be - stains on the cutlery and plates , and everything is a bit more basic than an Ascott property which is the main competitor.

Location is great. 10 mins walk to Canary Wharf station and shopping mall with good supermarkets ( Waitrose and Marks and Spencers). It is also very near the new Westfield Stratford City which borders the Olympic Park. There isn't really anything to do in Canary Wharf from a tourist perspective but it is a cheaper place to stay during the main holidays as the business travelers leave and it is convenient to get around for London.

Room Tip: Go for the apartments overlooking the marina and not the road.

I stayed here for 3 nights, Dec 12, midweek, studio apartment, 7th floor. The room was very modern with great views of Canary Wharf, especially at night. The room had lots of extras, fridge, washing machine, dishwasher, tea/coffee making facilities, balcony, iron and ironing board, but best of all was Sky TV, especially when it was Champions League week. The bathroom was excellent, big shower, plenty of hot water, toiletries available. The accommodation is approx 2 minutes walk from Canary Wharf, about 15 minutes on the DLR / tube from London City airport. I got breakfast one morning, £6 for a basic continental breakfast, it was good. The staff were friendly and even helped me out when I ran out of shaving gear (for a fee).

Stayed at Fraser Place in Canary Wharf twice now, booking 2 bed roomed apartment. Good size double, with en-suite, good size twin room. Bathroom excellent with shower. Good size & well equipped kitchen. Dining area & lounge with balcony that overlooked the marina and O2.
On 9th floor, so very quiet & fantastic views, particularly at night.

Reception very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Building modern, very clean and spacious.

Waitrose & Sainsbury's close by for any food shopping - open til 10pm. Five minute walk to Jubilee line into central London [approx 10 mins]. A couple of minutes from Canada Tower; easy travel to O2 and Excel Arena.

Excellent value for 5 people staying [sofa bed in lounge]. Great alternative to a hotel.

I stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment on the 12th floor - I asked for a quiet room with a view which was arranged for me - great view but it super quiet. I arrived close to midnight given my driver was very very lost (it's very difficult to find for mini cab drivers especially at night) and was checked in swiftly. I knew about the £250 deposit so it was not an issue.

APARTMENT
The apartment was large - great view over the water and Canary Wharf and almost spotless (1 dirty plate in the cupboards but everything else was perfect). Modern appliances which was easy to use in the majority (I didn't know how to use the microwave since it's combined with the oven - the staff actually left out the manual for me one day with hand written instructions! Talk about great service.) And the heaters were fantastic. It kept the apartment very warm.

Bed was very comfortable and the plumbing great - i.e. rain shower & hand held which actually works. Turn on the hot water and out it came...immediately. Ipod dock in the lounge & bedroom. Wireless was super fast and uninterrupted - yes, it does cost £6 per day but if you book the one week deal on its website it comes with the deal.

HOUSEKEEPING
Maid service once a week or £50 per visit - I paid for this half way through the week - this is expensive but I wanted the bins changed, dishes done and fresh towels.

FOOD
There are heaps of takeaways which will delivery to the Apartment - I used Just-Eat and it never cost me more than £15 per meal. There are also restaurants within 10-15 mins walking distance and there is the Canary Wharf shopping centre which has some band names.

LOCATION
This apartment was perfect for business travel as I had meetings in Canary Wharf (a financial services hub) for the week but it is 10 mins walk from the nearest tube and then a good 20-25 minutes into central London so not the perfect location if you are a tourist. It's about £90 in a black cab from Heathrow or £50-70 in a mini cab - the one I booked was awful but there are some good ones around - try Cabmania's website to get quotes. Canary Wharf is difficult to get to and from the airport and there are stairs getting to the apartment if you are taking public transport.

The apartment is also opposite Billiingsgate Market which is a wholesale fish market... the fishy smell that welcomed me each morning even in the brisk winter air was not great.

SERVICE
Fantastic - staff were responsive and helpful - front desk even had umbrellas for guests to borrow. Business centre facilities were reasonably priced.

My family and I spent 5 days at this property and really were quite pleased. We have stayed in other Fraser Place properties and have usually been happy. The 2 bedroom apartment we rented was clean and spacious, with a large family room which was perfect for our needs. Antonella was great at reception. Everyone was very accomodating. We were there for a star trek convention at excel and this was a terrific choice for the five of us travelling together.
