Owner description: City Hall is home to the Mayor of London, the London Assembly and the GLA, who in July 2002 became tenants of this striking rounded glass building on the south bank of the Thames near Tower Bridge. Members of the public may visit parts of City Hall Monday to Friday from 8am to 8pm and on occasional weekends.

Went with my sister while we were near the Tower Bridge. The building is very interesting. The public is allowed to go up to the general hall that looks out over the Thames. This was quite nice, but nothing all that special compared to any other view over the Thames.

The bottom floor has a cafe as well as a large map of London one can walk on. Unfortunately there are no indicators so it is hard to tell what you are looking at

I think that city hall adds a lot to the area in terms of landmark buildings. It makes a statement standing there over the thames. Its strange shape blending in with all the other differently shaped buildings.

It's an interesting shape. It's in an interesting location. Call me old fashioned but its no county hall. I am old enough to remember the days of the fares fair policy and the redskins playing behind county hall. Those were the days Boris!

I visited City Hall as part of the Open City Weekend in London - it is a stunning building and well worth having a look at. During the open weekend I took the lift up to the 9th floor and out onto the balconies for the panoramic views of the Thames and buildings on the north side of the river. Then you walk down the spiral staircase to the chamber.

I'm not sure which parts of the building are open on a daily basis but i would definitely recommend visiting at the next Open City event (next year) to have a look!
