“Boutique hotel??????”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 20, 2013 via mobile

We booked this hotel as we were attending a friends party at a nearby bar.... To be very honest, we were horrified when we eventually found the hotel and saw that it was set amongst some high street shops in what looked like one of the most run-down, dangerous main roads in London...After checking in and parking our car in a trading estate at the back of the hotel we were shown to a downstairs bedroom... It was terrible! No window, and a wet room/toilet with a shower curtain across (how is this an en-suite?!!) absolutely no privacy whatsoever.... we felt like checking out again straight away as our £90 a night(!) room really was awful... After complaining, we were then shown to another room which was marginally better as it had a proper bathroom, however definitely not worth £90 cost... It was tired, cheaply furnished and smelt awful... Could not see the TV when in bed and the room looked out on to a wall....there is no way that this is a boutique hotel and we can think of far nicer places for the same cost. The only saving grace is that the staff were helpful and friendly - but no information about the hotel was offered and it felt as though we might as well have been in Beirut when walking out to get some food. There is no way a female traveller would feel comfortable in this location... Won't stay there again... Ever!!!!

Having found hotels in London very pricey during Ascot week (even a Travel Lodge was nearly £200) I went further afield and found Pasha in Camberwell. Reading the reviews I thought it worth the risk.
When I took a cab to Camberwell the cabbie said 'are you sure miss? It is not a nice part of town'. This concerned me.
When I got out of the cab he said be careful do not wander around at night! More worried.

The hotel is brown and situated in a row of shops. The staff were very friendly and pleasant. No complaint here and thy helped me with my bags.

The room was a decent size but quite down at heel. The carpet needed replacing as it was dirty and frayed. The bed was ok. The shower tiny. Plenty of hot water.

Someone tried to get in to my room after 9.30 which scared me.

If you don't mind about location or cleanliness it is fine. But at £90 i thought it steep.

Stayed at this location many times over a period of 6 months in 2012 and once in Feb 2013

A hotel that many would not like but I enjoyed because of its quirkiness and the fact that all I wanted was a clean bed, on-suite near to the project that I was working on.

You enter the hotel via a Turkish Spar & Hammam with a Beauty Salon and greeted by friendly and accommodating staff, the rooms on the ground floor are not suitable for a long stay as they are small, cramped and can be noisy from the passage outside.

The upstairs room are comfortable, clean and quiet. There is train noise in the early morning, but I can sleep though that.

I like the restaurant where they serve Kyrgyz, Kazakh & Mediterranean cuisine with Russian beer.
You can chose to sit at a table or lounge on the eastern cushions at low tables.

They also have wifi, I enjoyed the experience staying at this hotel and would recommend it for those that want to try something different.

There is car-parking to the rear of the hotel, it is best to ring the hotel for directions to the car park when near by.

Room Tip: Do not select the ground floor. Not suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

. The hotel is much larger than the frontage leads you to believe. Their parking spaces at the back of the hotel can be difficult to find and are extremely limited. The staff were immensely helpful by staying on the phone and directing me. I had an economy double which was basic but adequately equipped with a very comfortable bed and immaculately clean. The shower room was modern and the shower very powerful. I ordered room service (there was no additional cost for this) and the food was amazing and very reasonably priced. Breakfast is an additional £5 and well worth it. All in all, I would be happy to recommend this hotel and would stay here again

Firstly, very friendly and helpful staff. Secondly, a genuine Turkish/Central Asian hotel experience (I've been there) - on arrival, up 2 flights of dark tiny twisty old staircase, no towels, no basin plug, no phone to call reception. Terrible cheap small lumpy mattress. Minuscule TV high up in corner. Draughty ill fitting window looking out on razorwire (but luckily not road side). On returning from restaurant (rather good) we couldn't turn the overhead lights off from wrongly wired 2-way switches ! Had to climb on chair and remove bulbs. Next day we were given a different room. Same terrible mattress. No basin plug. Grubby carpet. Must have been occupied by a chain-smoker for a week (though it was a non-smoking room) - it stank. TV on wall so low I kept walking into it squeezing past the end of the bed. Then the best of all - a long train hurtled past the window all of 8 feet away ! As they did till midnight, restarting at 5a.m.
The location is pretty dodgy too - unless you regard being offered crack cocaine by a wild-eyed hooded youth on the pavement right outside the hotel as a plus...
Shame really; staff were friendly, kind of trying hard, but definitely not succeeding.

Room Tip: Take your own mattress and earplugs.

The hotel was reasonably priced for a London hotel but fell a little short of expectations. Firstly, they were unable to accept AMEX so I was not able to pay with my company credit card. The room was clean and tastefully furnished. The bathroom was quite spacious and had very tasteful decor. However, the room looked out onto the railway track so it was noisy until around midnight and the noise began again at around 5 am. They do not start serving breakfast until 8 am in the morning and on this day nobody turned up in the dining room until 8.15 am, which meant I had to leave without breakfast because of a business commitment. The hotel is OK if you want somewhere cheap and cheerful but I recommend you request a room on the other side of the building to the railway track!

Room Tip: Make sure you request a romm away from the railway line!!!!

We thought the hotel was very clean even if the carpet was a bit frayed. Hotel room was perfect and bathroom was new. Very clean and fresh. Great base for the city of London. Staff were good and very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. Food was great in the restaurant and very good value. We had two hours in the Turkish bath which was wonderful, relaxing and a very different experience. Would recommend this hotel. Breakfast is good value at five pounds a head as an extra
