“Another excellent meal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 10, 2013

This place is one of the first I visit when in London, I really feel like I've arrived. It's atmosphere is cosy (yes cosy!) and relaxed. There is always a decent vegetarian hot meal option and soup, though I find the sandwiches a bit so-so. So I visit for the hot food, not the sandwiches. It's also a nice spot for sit down for coffee and pastries.

Prices are reasonable for London, and servings very generous.

“Interesting Place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 9, 2013

This s a really interesting spot for a bite to eat. You can go in next to the church - just head down the stairs. It is a crypt so there are graves in the floor. Many very old so you can't even read inscriptions - others you can. The stone building is really cool. There were hot and cold food selections - we just opted for some ice cream because it was the middle of the afternoon. Definitely worth a stop if you are in Trafalgar Square.

“Very good basic food in an amazing location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 7, 2013

The Crypt Cafe is very central - across from the National Gallery in Trafalgar Square. In our latest visit to the Crypt we came in just as people were going upstairs for one of the excellent concert performances. There were lots of seats. We should have changed plans and attended the concert, but we were tired and hungry. The food is basic, tasty and inexpensive. It is served cafeteria style. Also in the lower level is a fine shop selling souvenirs and items relating to the church's good works.

“Very different! Good cheap food!”

This venue is very different as you are actually eating in the crypt. Some might not like this idea but the food is amazing value and decent.

“Value for money gem!”

Excellent place to eat and nourish the body before seeing a play. For central London, the prices are very good.
Food temperature should be improved.
The setting is lovely and worth a visit.
