Nottingham Place Hotel
Ranked #568 of 1,081 Hotels in London
Reviewed September 2, 2013

I've stayed at Nottingham Place hotel quite a few times with work and the overall experience is good. If you get one of the Hempel rooms they are very nicely layed out and great to stay at.

I love the Elemis toiletries and the bathroom / showers of those rooms. They are really a heaven to restore the body - same for the beds: ultra confortable.

The rooms are quite noisy, you can hear your neighbours taking phone calls or walking in their rooms. When people leave their room in the morning, you would hear them too and that's pretty disturbing.

The hotel could really use a freshen up for paint and furniture. There are quite some stains everywhere and it seems like the cleaning of the hotel is not really made up to standards (you find hair and crumbs everywhere, under your mattress, on the headboard etc.).

I used to really enjoy staying there but since they changed names, the quality seems to go down every time i return.

Room Tip: Try to book an Hemple room for the design and try to avoid the basement rooms (especially 205!)

Well earned 4 stars for the hotel. Great accommodation for anyone looking for a peaceful quiet. stay. No one was at reception for about 5 minutes of my arrival. I received help from another member of staff, i think it was the hotel supervisor. Room was of standard size for a couple. Good stay. Very clean. Good service. No noise. No annoyances. Definitely would come again.

The hotel is well located and the small rooms are well designed, but the prices in summer were pretty steep and there is little soundproofing. It would be a very OK location if the rooms were not in the 4 star category.

Room Tip: A higher room might be better. Fewer people walking past in the corridor at night with little sound...

Nice little boutique hotel in great central area. Rooms are large, clean and well equipped. I would stay here again !
The kitchenette makes this hotel very homely and convenient.
The rooms are getting a little tired but still kept clean and tidy. Just a word of advice - the hotel taxi service (private car) is far more expensive than a London Taxi

We were two families with very young kids (ages 1-11) staying at this hotel (24 Nottingham Place) for 7 nights while vacationing in London. First of all, we had a VERY hard time finding a place in central London catering to families with young kids and being affordable. So, running out of options, when a friend recommended this hotel, we jumped at the opportunity. We were so pelasantly surprised and would HIGHLY recommend this hotel to ANY London traveller. It is VERY central (3 minutes walk from Baker Str station), close to several attractions, including Regents Park which was a blessing with our 5 kids and, very importantly, super close to wonderful restaurants and cafes. Although we could not walk much with the kids, the hotel is also a 12 minutes walk from Oxford Street and very close to other attractions as well, for which we talk the tube. The price was by far the cheapest we found for something comparable and it also included a delicious, healthy breakfast, hand delivered to room every day as soon as we requested it, in a cute basket. We had fresh coffee, fresh OJ, healthy granola and yogurt and freshly baked croissants and rolls! The staff was extremely helpful, always available and smiling, with a special mention to the reception staff who always went out of their way to help us (even when we made a mistake and left for the airport on the wrong day and had to re-check in!). The rooms are indeed small but for a place this central and accommodating we did not mind so much. Plus the use of space is quite ingenious and worth admiring in and of itself (it is obvious that both architect and interior designer are well known and acclaimed). What is also worth mentioning is how quiet this area is. After the craziness of our days trying to sightsee in London with 5 kids and being squashed like sardines in the tube and in the museums, our peaceful room was like home away from home, an oasis! Walking 3 minutes to get to dinner on the ritzy Marylbone street, we could not believe how truly peaceful our hotel street was and yet so close to so many happening places! We asolutely LOVED this hotel and will not even look at anything else next time we are in London. I will only end with a minor comment that parents traveling with young kids should keep in mind (although this will not stop us from going again with our kids, given all the other amazing facts mentioned): the shower head is found on the ceiling of the shower which makes it very hard to bather either a baby or even to leave older kids to shower by themselves... and it makes keeping your hair dry difficult! I hope the management can look into this and perhaps add another option. One more thing: the small kitchenette is excellent fro traveling with a family, even for little things like warming up something in the microwave or keeping milk in the fridge. Overall, a GEM!!!!

Room Tip: We were on the mid floor of the place across from the reception (24 Nottingham Place, room 209) whic...

I arrived at the hotel early. A room was available which was across the street from the reception desk. I got help to the room. Room was very clean, there was a flat screen tv, playstation 3. Room size was moderate. Head house keeper of the hotel was very helpful. I stayed 3nights, breakfast was included. Breakfast was served in a basket. It is a peaceful hotel, i would visit again.

We checked in - and then left that building to walk along to No. 24 Nottingham Place.
I felt as if I was in an exhibition centre as we were led to our room - such imaginative use of space
Our studio suite had a well equipped kitchenette, the living space was adequate with large flat screen tv, wall -mounted (another in the bedroom ) our room at this level was below ground. Work space for lap top small settee; rather narrow (but well lit) stairs led to bathroom, nicely fitted, Elemis products were very welcome but central fixed shower head meant you had to wash your hair as well as your body. Clothes Hanging area quite limited - on mini landing area before a further couple of steps up to very bright (street level) bedroom. Bed so comfortable!! Electric black -out and screen blinds were great.
Not ideal for older less mobile people,I'd say - but it was an ideal base and so handy (4 min walk) from Baker St Tube station. Marylebone High street with its plethora of eateries was a pleasant stroll away. (L'Entrecote is a MUST for steak lovers!) overall I'd say a good choice for us - but beware a glass over the odds and you may take a tumble on those stairs!!!!
