“Value for money stay”
Reviewed June 15, 2011

Our stay coincided with the European Cup Final on a Bank Holiday weekend so the Hotel was full. The room we were put initially was on the 2nd floor and quite tiny for a couple with a 4 month old baby. The staff was kind enough to put us the next day on the ground floor in a family room.
The family room was a big improvement and that's why I would give them a 4 out of 5. We enjoyed our staying there and for the money we paid we might as well coming back next time.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms away from the stairs.

Stayed for one night on business only room available at alst minute what a shame its just not worth the trouible,
The room smells, the pillows smell, there are bugs in the bathroom and the bedroom, its just not a nice pace to stay. the tv only has 3 channels

Its more like a doss house than a hotel, no one spoke much English, and residents were more like refugees

Definatley a place to avoid, even the brekfast was poor, bread was dried and stale , orange juice was like colured water the only good thing was the coffee and that because with the exception of the hot water you did it all your self

Room Tip: the pictures must be another hotel

The price was the main attraction as we had to stay close to Hendon.Tiny, filthy room. No good points, no comment.

Where to start.
The good points.
The location is good and the parking is for free.
The bad points.
The room smells horribly of smoke. The sheets may be clean but the smell is in the pillows and duvet.
The doors slam loudly at night.
The management seem more bothered in blaming the staff than in resolving the issues.
The room is covered in a layer of grime, the construction is cheap and shoddy and in places falling apart.
The shower did not work, stuck on blindingly hot.
We should have looked at the reviews more closely- but convenience led us here. It will not again.

I have stayed at this hotel since November 2010 as I am working in London on a medium to long term contract. I used to stay at The Holiday Inn Express and only stumbled accross this hotel when the Express was full. Now I won't go back! The King Solomon may not be as posh but it represents much greater value for money. Clean rooms, free parking, a great location for food and drink, plus first rate staff all add to a very pleasant stay at The King Solomon.

Small room with strange smell; no hanging space; no bedside light, just a very intrusive neon type light in bedroom. It was clean but so basic. Bathroom had cracked tiles and no plug in sink. Cool in the evening and overhot in the night. Quite noisy with firedoors squeaking and banging all night. Breakfast was adequate in a pleasant dining room.

Room Tip: Kosher restaurants are closed on a Saturday!

we will stay here again. we were in town for a very stressful period of time, and found the hotel a great retreat from stress etc. if we needed to make urgent phone calls, the cleaning and maintenance staff were very understanding, good-humoured and flexible about coming back later. the front desk staff were calm and sensible. the rooms were attractive; if we came back to London for a more positive experience, such as a holiday, we would definitely consider coming here again. there seemed to be a nice atmosphere.
