B+B Belgravia
Ranked #48 of 566 London B&B and Inns

We recently stayed in this B&B with our 17yr. old granddaughter and had a family room on the main floor. Our bedroom was a very good size and well furnished. Our granddaughters room was small but was fine for one person. The biggest problem was we had to go through her room to get to the bathroom and the pocket doors between our rooms and between her room and the bathroom did not meet leaving a constant gap. The breakfast was fine and cooked to order. The negative was the staff. It seemed like English was not their first language and they seemed aloof which could have been due to language difficulties. When in London, I expect British staff just as I expect French when I stay in Paris. No owner seemed to be on the premises as is usually the case with a B & B. Would we stay there again-maybe.

I had initially decided to give this place a decent review, the room (number 7) was OK, quite small but it did the job and there was a strong free wifi signal, it's also close to Victoria Station

On the negative side, it was way too warm with no air conditioning, the doors all slam close which makes a hell of a noise and the bathroom was beyond tiny, also the breakfast was pretty ordinary, the sausages used just felt cheap so we only ate a full breakfast there once, the next day we just chose toast.

The main gripe was the acceptance they 'look after' your luggage once checked out, in our case this did not happen and our luggage went missing, the rude receptionist did little to assist at first believing her personal phone call was more important, she then didn't listen to what we were saying indicating that we had obviously forgotten what our luggage looked like due to the amount of times she asked us if it was in the same place we left it, eventually after several phone calls we were taken down the road to the studios where it was located in another guests bedroom! All this made us late for our train. I have written to the hotel manager directly about this and will await a suitable response.

We recently returned from a 5 night stay at this B and B. The location is good and the rooms are clean and fairly spacious. We enjoyed especially the care given by Antonio and Alandro (sp??). They both took pride in providing a positive experience for their guests. Antonio went out of his way to try to remedy some minor problems we had in the room and was interested in our suggestions to improve the running of the B and B. The breakfasts were efficiently prepared to order and the quantity and quality of the food was good. Other positives were the availability of coffee, tea, bottled water and yummy shortbread cookies!! We would have liked washcloths for the room and mirrors closer to the outlet plugs. The only mirrors were in the bathroom. There are no plugs for the hairdryer and curling iron in that area and it was frustrating until the one extention cord the B and B owned became available. Also the window shades could be improved. Since it was exceptionally warm while we were there, we would have liked to have blinds open to let in air (no AC there) without being visible to the street traffic. We had to keep the shade pulled thus the room was sometimes too warm. We would return to this site if ever in London again....but would hope to get a room on the lower rather than the upper floor due to no elevator. We'll ask next time!! And we hope to see mirrors and improved window coverings!! Overall, good London B and B experience however!!

Room Tip: Rooms in the back are quieter and ask for a lower floor if you do not like using the stairs to go up...

I visited here in 2007 and enjoyed it. This return was a large mistake. Here are the best features - location just next to Victoria Station, internet very good, breakfast is very good in a cheery room. If that's all that matters read no further. Main lounging area has constant filth on rug, dirty dishes left scattered about this area. Hallway, and stair carpetting is shot and permanently stained. NO LIFT/ELEVATOR, we were promised that someone would be there to help us carry luggage up 4 flights of ever-narrowing stairs (wall width, & the step threshold itself). The only person available to help carry was a young woman of about 110lbs., I couldn't imagine her on the end of 50 lb. suitcases. The room itself very tiny with tilting floors. The only window was an up & down slider - which couldn't be closed properly. Don't be fooled by their slick looking website. We did not get the room we were promised. Will not return

This review is not about the B & B Belgravia, 66 Ebury Street, but it's studios at no. 82 Ebury Street. We had a "compact studio", room no 28, for 3 nights over the Diamond Jubilee holiday. It is basically a double room with ensuite, plus cupboards and a worksurface along one wall, with a fridge, crockery, cutlery, toaster and kettle. Breakfast items (bread, croissants, butter, small packets of cereal, cartons of milk, cheese, yoghurts, small pots of jam, biscuits and fruit) are all provided and replenished each day.

This room is on the top floor; there is no lift so there is some stair climbing to do (which we knew about when booking, so not a problem for us). Ebury Street is in a quiet area (plenty of birdsong, which is lovely considering it's in the middle of London), but not far from Victoria Station, Buckingham Palace and Hyde Park. On arrival you book in at the B & B, are given the key and taken a few doors down to the studios.

Booking, email contact, staff, cleanliness, facilities, location are all excellent, could not fault in any way. I would thoroughly recommend this accommodation.

Room Tip: If you're a light sleeper/like the windows open you may like to ask for a room at the back, away...

A very pleasant B&B experience. Good breakfast, modern room, good lounge area with free 24/7 refreshments and internet access, good location, helpful staff. I can also understand that it will not suit all the people all the time, i.e if it is hot there is no air conditioning, if you are on an upper floor there is no lift, and there are signs that some refurbishment should be carried out before too long.

This hotel is highly recommended on Tripadvisor and by Rick Steves and I was very excited to stay there. Unfortunately, it does not live up to its billing. The carpet throughout the hotel is dirty and heavily strained, frayed and ripped in spots. The room where I stayed (#17 on the top floor) hascarpeting that was equally stained and dirty. The tiles in the bathroom floor are covered with mold, as are the tiles near the spigots. My friend and I were there for four days, and housekeeping did little but empty the trash, and make the beds. The carpet was never vacuumed, and the water stains on the bathroom mirror (which were there when we arrived) were still there four days later. There was one plastic drinking glass in the bathroom, that was never changed. (One glass--in a room with twin beds.) Perhaps the worst part of all occured the first morning, after my morning shower. I was completely wet, and when I shook out the towel, found that it was covered with black soil marks. When I later took the towel to the housekeeping staff and showed it to them, I (mistakenly) assumed that they would be upset. Not at all--the lethargic response that I received was that there is a problem with their towel supplier, and they often get dirty towels instead of clean ones. The staff is supposed to check the towels before they put them in the room, but forgot this time. That response was complete with a shoulder shrug.
So, if you want to stay in a dirty, over priced B&B, this is the place to go. I do not plan on returning next time I am in London. There are several B&Bs on Ebury Street which are far superior in value.
