With our friend travelling from Kos in Greece to run the London Marathon, my Birthday and celebrating getting engaged my fiance and i decided to save hard and treat ourselves to a bit of luxury for the weekend in London and chose Apex Temple Court as our place to stay for its location and the write up about the hotel. When booking we were told we would be upgraded to a Deluxe room and have access to the VIP lounge to make the weekend special on behalf of the hotel. This was a lovely gesture.. Until we got there and booked in. We were told the person who had taken the booking wasn't available so the origional room was all we would get and no VIP access allowed.disapointment started to set in..we were given a voucher to compensate which was a drink on them....... not each.. just one drink.i Questioned this decision and they decided that a drink each would be a better idea............ A £10 voucher was supposed to be issued for booking direct.....This had not been given and i had to ask for it and made to feel a bit embarressed. Evening meal and breakfast were part of the first night booking...Being charged for our drinks being served was not expected, But getting a bill for breakfast and having to question it before getting it sorted was the last time i was going to get ripped off by this hotel.. so nothing else was used or purchased from there. we stayed our second night then checked out early sunday morning with the feeling that we will not be booking an expensive hotel again soon.. luckily the weekend, the company we kept and the marathon were fantastic so made up for our dissapointment at feeling so uncomfortable in a place where we just wanted to experience something different..Rich people and buisness people might not worry about these things hence why these hotels get away with such treatment.. But a working person who has saved hard for something special thinks a little different..........................
