First stay at this hotel, and was told I'd been upgraded which was a pleasant surprise. Reception was very attentive, if not a little overly so, but hardly a problem. Had asked for a room away from lifts as I tend to be a light sleeper which I got. The room was nice, well appointed and with a balcony terrace (shame it wasn't the summer). However, this is where the 'but' comes in - the room was on the top floor on the side of the hotel which must have had an air conditioning unit on the roof above it as even with the room aircon turned off, there was a constant loud hum doing its best to stop me from sleeping.... I'm just glad I hadn't paid the full price. One other thing, the barman was clearly disappointed wth the size of tip received for bringing a bottle of champagne 10ft to us and opening it.
