“great seafood at Camden Stables Market”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 12, 2013

The oysters were very fresh and served perfectly; the fish and chips was cooked just right, Everything was clean and tasteful, and the service was friendly and prompt. An nice oasis in the middle of the chaotic market.

“amazing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 28, 2013

Me and my boyfriend went to Seawise on Friday night for dinner, the location is inside the Camden Town Market, but when you enter the atmosphere is really nice and familiar. The place is not so big, just 10 tables, the service are lovely. All the food was amazing, and the bill was ok for what we took. We had 2 devil crabs, 2 portions of grilled oyster, spicy calamari rings, 2 seafood kebab, salad and chips, 1 beer, 1 large glass of wine and a bottle of Chardonnay, all for 90£.
We ate and drank really a lot and very well. We'll for sure come back.

“Best lobster in Town”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 26, 2013

Fantastic staff and the best lobster in town, we've been back twice for the lobster platter, more than enough for two with a nice bottle thrown in! Fresh seafood, friendly atmosphere, great value, can't wait for our next visit!

“The food is NOT fresh”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2013

Me and my friend ate here and we could tell the food was not fresh, any of it. we saw them take it all out of the freezer to cook it. The next 2 days we both had very bad food poisoning. I will never go here again.

Thank you for taking the time to share you experience. We serve up the freshest sea food in The Stables Market and are one of the few eateries to cook food fresh to order.
After contacting you on the direct message centre (which you now do not reply to) we are a little confused as you ate oysters (which are live when they arrive and we open them to order), you ate a fresh dressed crab which was on display in our display chiller, you had prawn, pepper and onion skewers which were on display and you ate mussels which were on display so how you "saw them take it all out of the freezer to cook" I am struggling to undertsand?

Upset stomachs are common and so often if people have eaten any kind of fish prior to this the fish is always to blame no matter what else has been consumed, and on those rare occasions when complaints regarding suspected food poisoning are brought to our attention we follow the Food Standards Agency guidelines in ensuring food poisoning is correctly diagnosed and advise customers to seek advice from a General Practitioner (GP).

We are sorry you didnt enjoy your experience.

Kind regards
Lucy & James

“Super fresh fish in a laid back "crab shack" atmosphere.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 16, 2013

My wife and I had a fantastic meal here on a Sunday after checking out the word famous market.

Firstly the decor reminded me of the laid back "crab shack" style place you find in southern Florida, Key West or New Orleans. There is wood paneling on the walls to create the effect of the wood built shack seafood restaurants that are incredibly popular along the coast in these place. The the twist in the decor is instead of the old sea sign, or driftwood and anchors they have modern cool Britannia and Banksy prints that put you firmly back back in cool Camden.

This works really well and i felt like I was on a holiday in my own city.

The service was great as they had an American girl offering the kind of genuine friendly upbeat service you get in the southern states that you never see in London unless in a forced and corporate way.

Saving the best for last, the food! The chef, who I believe may be the owner, prepares all the sea food fresh behind a deli counter kitchen area which assures you of the quality cleanliness and creates a buzz or activity. And this guy knows his stuff and is "Seawise" indeed. The seafood food is super fresh the Oysters being the equal of any I have ever had in London. Having eaten soggy greasy Calimari for double the price in Jamie's Italian this was different class, crispy and as it should be.

We had a taster platter and everything was superb fresh and cooked to perfection. Nothing rubbery or damp or greasy as is so often the case with "fresh" seafood in London even at the most expensive restaurants.

Great FOOD! Great atmosphere! Great value!

The perfect place for summer seafood and a beer in the early evening in London. Suits a relaxed date or a meal with friends or family. A rare FIVE STARS!!!
