Chose this company out of the many rib tours in London, because of the good reviews. However, our experience couldn't have been worse.

I would advise any prospective purchaser to avoid this company and choose one of the many other companies instead. This is what happened on our visit:

The trip was planned as a special treat for my son who has been desperate to go on the rib tour for a while and as he was completing a school project on London, we decided to book a family ticket on the day. The website was still available for bookings.

On arrival at Festival Pier at 12.50pm, we were surprised to find the office closed and no sign of any representative of the company. We waited 5-10 minutes thinking perhaps that all the staff were out on the 12noon boat trip. When no-one appeared by 1pm, we began trying to ring the office numbers provided. Imagine our further disgust when this simply rang inside the empty office we were standing next to leaving us no way to contact any representative of the company.

We waited a further 20 minutes in hopes that someone would eventually turn up, but nobody came and nobody contacted us to say the trip had been cancelled. Both my children were absolutely devastated. How do you explain to a 7 year old that the boat trip he has been really excited about is not going to happen, especially when he could see the boats from other companies zipping up and down the river?

Altogether we spent a huge amount of money on a trip that never happened. Train tickets, rib tour, alternative entertainment to try to make up for the disappointment of not making the boat trip and a short river cruise from Embankment to London Bridge to at least let the kids get out on a boat even if it wasn't the trip they wanted.

It seems at present as though the company has completely defrauded us out of our money with no intention of providing the service paid for. We received a refund for the trip from the company, but they refused to take any responsibility for any of the other expenses.

Altogether a terrible experience, and no compensation for a complete lack of service.

So, other companies may be more expensive, but they may also be more reliable.

I would like to respond to this review as this was completely out of our hands and is not how we operate our service. on the day in question our service was not running and was cancelled on our booking system, unfortunately David purchased hes tickets on the day when our office was closed and booking system some how managed to let tickets remain on sale, this has now been fixed so this will not happen again. we have since made contact and offered a full refund and a 25% discount on an alternative date along with a free complementary group photo. As you will see from all our other reviews we run a great service and always work hard to make this as enjoyable as possible, and do accept from time to time problems do occur and we work hard to resolve them and prevent them from happening again in the future. To that end i would like to welcome all passengers to come and try our service and not take this review seriously as we run a very successful Rib Tour Service for the last two years.

We took our 15 year old grandson and all agreed it was a great experience. We turned up at our specified time, were provided with anoraks and life jackets, boarded quickly and given a brief safety talk. Our guide was funny, informative and the whole trip was great, especially when twisting and turning at high speed out to the Thames barrier ..what a super skipper!

I would however like to make two suggestions:-
1. Families should be made to sit together. Although first in queue the way they do it we were last to board and therefore had to sit in the middle row. Those in front of us kept turning to loudly communicate with the rest of their party behind. Another valid point is that in the safety talk we were told not to even stand let alone leave our seats, but to enable them to have a family photo, without us in it, they had to!

2. In the briefing we were told if frightened just to raise an arm ... Thankfully no-one did and even the guide remarked at the end of our trip that was unusual. Anyone with common sense with a fear of water or speed would never take such a trip, only an attention seeker would do such a thing so please don't give anyone the opportunity to spoil the enjoyment of 11 others who have paid a lot for the "THRILLING, ROLLER COASTER SPEEDBOAT" ......you cannot raise an arm and stop any other roller coaster so please remove this part from the briefing and display a warning sign before boarding.

Would certainly recommend this trip and would love to do it again ...provided no kill joys on board!
(There are plenty slow boats for them).

A Rib Tour down the Thames is the only way to see London in 50mins. Informative, fun and exciting. Money well spent. I've been on it three times and can't wait to go again.

We were on the 'champagne couples' tour, which included lunch for two at Pizza Express, just along the road. It was all thoroughly fantastic and enjoyable. We also took along our 9 year-old daughter who said that 'she loved it', which is quite a rave review for her, especially as she seemed to have her eyes shut for some of it. I found it more 'Arrrghhh!' than 'Wheeee!' but that's because I was in protective mummy mode - however I did a brave job and said 'Whee!' whenever I felt 'Arrghhh!. Mostly.
Thank you to all the staff and crew who were very knowledgable and reassuring and amusing! Thanks to the Southbank for putting on a lovely food festival for us to sample and nibble our way along the riverside. And well done to all the Rib Tour teams and everyone else who helped out with the emergency that happened with one of the Duck Tour boats that day.
