Beautiful, modern hotel, fantastic staff, beautifully decorated. Would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

As soon as you walk through the doors you are looked after, the doormen were excellent, the check in was really quick and handled with efficiency and the staff could not do enough for you.

Extra special at this time of year, the Christmas trees and decorations were enchanting.

Stay at this hotel - you will not be disappointed!

We found the lobby staff excellent and helpful, however we felt the room a little cramped with only one chair for two people, when we asked for earl grey tea, we expected a few tea bags to be sent to the room, not ONE bag for two people at £4.50. B & B guests get better than that.!! £4.50 for a hot chocolate is overpriced and we would not recommend this stay to any friends. Maybe the excellent location leads to high prices. We stayed here several times in the 90's with our children, which is why we returned, but not again. No free Wi-Fi !! why not in hotel of this standard.

The entrance to the hotel sets the scene - a magical garden with christmas lights shining and an imposing facade. True 5 * luxury throughout. The room larger than most London Hotels and well furnished - bathrooms also good, although a small point is a lack of bench space in the bathroom. Restaurants, bars and lounges all well laid out and well serviced.

The other nice feature is that it is a short walk through the park to the nicest part of London and the tube station is nearby with lots of coffee shops and useful services

I spent a couple of nights at this hotel on business and had a really pleasurable time. It has been recently refurbished giving it a very modern feel without losing any of it's old world grandeur.

The room was immaculate and extremely comfortably with very good quality toiletries. My room was at the front of the hotel and had a lovely aspect and was very quiet. I had a meal in the bar one evening which was beautifully presented and the staff were all very accomodating without being intrusive. Breakfast was also very good, with an unusual variety of food which included victoria sponge (I'm impressed!). I would definitely think of this hotel if I were wanting a weekend break.

Room Tip: Rooms at front are quiet and have best outlook

Welcoming: We arrived late and the receptionist has been very nice in welcoming us. Outside was very very cold and the colours of the entrance as well as its temperature make the hall very cozy.

Room:We reserved a standard queen room for 5 nights. The room was too small for 2 people, the bed was attached to the wall on one side and it was not really confortable go sleeping. Finally we changed for a bigger (and more expensive) room were, of course, it was easyer go sleeping but no additional services were included than in the standard one. A part of the room size, everything was very clean, but the courtesy set (of the bath) was poor and simple, at least simpler than we expected considering the price/night. Moreover they don't offer you any courtesy water as, on the contrary, we found in other hotels in London of the same category. Both the rooms I occupied had no any view.

neighborood: The hote is very well located, few step from scotland yard, buckingam palace, parliament square and the tube (St. James park station).

Various: people are very nice and kind. In the the Caxton bar there are 2 caminos in front of which is very cozy and relaxing have a tea or a drink, chatting with some of the other guests. The breackfast is reach and good, fully furnished with both, continental and english types.

Generally speaking I think that the Hotel is quit expensive for what it offers (as a standard and superior services - where to pay only for space) but it is a nice place in which to stay during your London experience.

Staff was great and very helpful, room was amazing, breakfast (even continental) is perfect. Luxurious hotel perfectly located, 5 min walk to Big Ben. We would definatly stay here again on our next trip to London!

Room Tip: We had a room with 2 beds and 2 bathroom! for 2 girls traveling together it was perfect!

I stayed at the hotel for two nights in December, my first visit. The hotel is well situated for access to government buildings and high commissions/embassies as well as the main tourist attractions. Beautiful exterior and the lobby looks stunning too, especially when all decked out for Christmas.

I shared a room with two double beds and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The rooms were very comfortable and everything inside the rooms was perfect. The beds were luxurious and everything was perfectly clean and tidy.

The only downside was that our room appeared to over some sort of service courtyard and from early in the morning till late at night there would be a loud metallic clanging that sounded like a heavy metal door being shut. This happened about every ten minutes so was a bit of a pain. We were in a room in the 530 range, for those who are interested.

The staff were on the whole very helpful, with excellent directions to tasty local restaurants. When I requested a late check out, the staff were very accommodating.

On the whole, a great experience (just choose a room without the metallic background effects).

Room Tip: From my experience, avoid a room in the 534-537 range.
