St. Ermin's Hotel, Autograph Collection

Certificate of Excellence

I spent 5 days here in November 2012. I have stayed in 5 star hotels in London that didn't measure up to St Ermins standards. High quality fit out but retaining the charm and character of a traditional English hotel.

I can't speak highly enough of the staff. All extremely well trained and genuine hospitality professionals who really do take an interest.

A good gym facility that could be made excellent by simply adding a couple of swiss balls which would enable a full body work out with their free weights. An excellent selection of cardio machines, all with private screens, iPod/iPhone integration, charging and Nike+ integration.

The Caxton Bar & Grill offered a great selection of food that was well presented and cooked to perfection. I also had the opportunity of dining at No.11 Cadogan Gardens (A five star property near by in Sloane Square) which was very average in comparison.

The room (240) offered some great features including an interactive TV, good sized bathroom (for London) very comfortable bed and again great fit out. The only draw backs were that it was located next to the staff elevator/service area and I would be woken each morning by banging and crashing of trollies and doors opening and closing and there was a view over the hotel machinery plant and refuse area. My colleague who was only staying two nights had a beautiful view over the lovely gardens and entrance to the hotel on the 5th floor. Something to bear in mind for next time. One other small thing was that I had two housekeepers on two separate occasions enter the room without knocking. Admitably, the first occasion, I had the "please make up my room" sign out and the other occasion was 3 minutes after my scheduled checkout time. In any instance as a hotelier, I wouldn't accept any of my staff entering any guest room without knocking.

In a nutshell a great property which I will definitely stay at again and my very good rating could have easily been an excellent rating but for some very small operational failings.

Room Tip: Do not select any room around 240 and I would assume the same for 340, 440, 540 & 640 as it is l...

I stayed here recently on an overnight business trip to London. What a treat! The taxi ride from Kings Cross took me along the Mall, past Trafalgar Square and the London Eye, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament and finally Westminster Abbey. I was greeted from my taxi by a doorman who took my bag and escorted me to the reception desk. I felt like royalty! The hotel is pure decadence - immaculately clean and first class in all respects. The staff make you feel like you are the only guest in the hotel - nothing is too much trouble. I ordered room service as I was travelling alone and the quality of the food on offer was excellent. Service was fast and the food was of high quality. I didn't get the opportunity to fully explore the bars and restaurants, but can only imagine that they were of equally high quality. Breakfast was wonderful too - an amazing range of choices and fantastic service. I can't fault this hotel.

Fantastic hotel, nice rooms, the best service I ever experienced, great breakfast, lots of coffee and tea in the room and even a "wallpaper" magazine provided. The location is not bad but could be better : Next to the St James subway but due to maintenance the circle and district lines were closed during the weekend. A frontal roomview of an ugly derelict BT building.

We stayed here last night and location is perfect, right next to st James tube. Hotel is beautiful, rooms are luxurious and staff could not do enough. If you want luxury then this is the hotel for you. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to London x

The hotel is very fresh and the staff just get it and make you feel genuinely welcome. Recently renovated product with very comfortable bed, Amazonas-style shower, White Company of London amenities. Great conference rooms. Probably would make an easy and comfortable place to stay with children too.

This hotel is absolute perfection. The driveway and entrance lobby really set this apart from others. Excellent location tucked away from the hustle and bustle of central London but within walking distance of Buckingham Palace etc. The children were made to feel very welcome with nice touches like their names on the TV in the room on arrival. Nothing was too much trouble. Valet parking made the tiresome task of parking in London a breeze. The staff were excellent with particlular praise for Stellios (the gentleman with the bowler hat) who is a credit to your hotel. We will definately be returning. Thank you.
