Stayed 10 nights in early September. Good-sized rooms with a modern kitchen fully stocked with enough cutlery, water glasses, wine glasses, etc for four persons. Kitchen appliances include electric stove and oven, refrigerator and freezer, clothes washing machine, microwave oven, toaster, and electric coffee maker. Look for the operating instructions of kitchen appliances in a kitchen cabinet drawer.
The internet was very fast, and the large flat screen TV in the living room had tons of channels. We never figured out how to access the same channels on the bedroom TV. There's a FAX machine with integral telephone (look for the unit's telephone number in your welcome letter).
King-sized bed was comfortable. Our unit faced the interior of the block, and was quiet at night with the windows open. Portsoken is a quiet side street with very little traffic, day or night. If you want busy nightlife outside your front door, this is not the place. The neighborhood is predominately modern office buildings, and workers disappear in the evenings. We found it clean and always felt safe. Did not see any homeless or drunks during our stay - wish I could say the same for our cities in California. There are two Tube stations within a 5-10 minute walk. The #15 bus stops a couple of blocks away, and we used it frequently to travel across the financial district to Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square, etc. It's nice to sit on...Stayed 10 nights in early September. The #15 bus can get bogged down at rush hour, so if time is important, take the Tube.
Christina was very helpful and patient when we called with some basic questions, and Jorge was happy to come up to the unit and show us how some of the appliances worked.
Only reason I did not give it a 5 is that there were some minor maintenance issues, such as small stains on the living room curtains and some mold spots on the shower curtain.More
