Was in London for a couple of days and due to short notice and the amount of rooms I needed (7) I was struggling to find anywhere nearer the centre. Decided to bite the bullet and try the Staybridge having stayed in them in the States and Newcastle Upon Tyne in the past.
It is a good tube ride away from the centre of London but literally only 40 mins and very straightforward. There is a bit of a lengthy walk once outside the tube, you have to walk up and across the the Westfield shopping centre and the hotel is situated at the far end. It shares the building with the Holiday Inn but you have your own lift and separate reception on the 8th floor.
Check in was fairly simple, our rooms weren't ready as we were early but we left our luggage and headed into London again for the afternoon. Once we got back and got our keys we were all on the 7th floor. The King Suites were lovely a proper self contained apartment, kitchen with fridge and cooking facilities, large lounge with bed settee, and a large bedroom and bathroom. I had no view except of the roof of the shopping centre and most disappointing was the fact the windows wouldn't open at all, I hate hotels who do this as I like fresh air. The lounge and bedroom both had efficient air con but not suitable to sleep with it on.
There's no bar in the Staybridge but they do occasionally put a managers evening on which includes free wine, beer and nibbles. There is a balcony with seats but don't think you'll be allowed to go out here and smoke !...........you have to descend the 8 floors in the lift and stand outside the entrance, not sure why.
Breakfast is adequate all self service with a fair choice although the coffee machines are sooooo slow it takes an age and the queues can get very long. They absolutely adhere to the timings for brekki so if your 5 mins late forget it as everything is promptly cleared away bang on 10am.
I'd definitely stay again, but would be better prepared and probably sort my own breakfast out and take my own drink for the apartment.
