A city hub for city workers in the high rise skyscrapers, with an awesome shopping mall and food court. There are also places to eat outside, with street food stalls across the bridge. The place lights up in January with the Winter Lights festival.
A great little adventure with the whole family or friends, and especially with the little ones. The neon lights art work really does brighten up the January dark evenings, and with Christmas over this is really something to get you out of the house and do together with friends, family and little one. There are 26 neon art displays placed around Canary Wharf to go and see. There are staff dotted around the place with maps of where the displays, so don't forget to grab one!!! We did a tour walking around Canary Wharf showcasing some of the amazing neon artwork. Search in YouTube for Geek Street Travels and Canary Wharf Winter Lights 2020. We have gone to the light display for the last few years and this year there was a definite budget cut. I appreciate the display is free to attend but it was disappointing that there was little that was interactive this year. A lot of white lights in small trees and small displays as well as plastic balls in the water. Last year there was UV painted recycling made by children in the ponds so rather a surprising choice now. Hoerver we still enjoyed a walk around the area and it was a popular event

Winter Light's display. It is well organised, with guides throughout, distributing maps and pointing the way. To see all the light exhibits involves walking quite a way and it can take a few hours. Quite busy with couples, families an groups but still able to get around easily, multiple toilets and eateries but can be very expensive as definitely London prices, Only negative was my 14 year old daughter had her pocket picked but hey, a lesson learnt. Exhibits smaller then expected but still nice to see. Would have stayed a little longer as nice area to walk around etc, but too cold. Will revisit area again when weather a bit warmer.

Each year Canary Wharf hosts a spectacular Winter Light's display. It is well organised, with guides throughout, distributing maps and pointing the way. To see all the lights involves walking quite a way and it can take a few hours, but you are amply rewarded. A throng of people, yet no great sense of overcrowding, multiple toilets and eateries, a happy, safe and stimulating atmosphere, wonderful for children of all ages. With so many negative images foisted upon us, to witness those of every colour, nation, philosophy and faith sharing this innocent experience together and, with childhood glee, participating in throwing little balls across coloured water features, was a treat and pointed to a world whee it is possible to dwell in harmony.
