“My favourite chippy in London”
Reviewed February 24, 2013

Always great service and fantastic food at this fish and chip restaurant. Thoroughly recommend the dine in experience. New management in the last few months has not affected this place's great reputation for friendly service and most importantly, fish and chips cooked and served to perfection. In all fairness it could be argued that the restuarant itself could do with some updating, but I believe the atmosphere adds to the charm. Don't let the outdated furniture/woodwork put you off. Try it once and you too will be hooked!
(Only a 1 minute walk from Southgate tube stop)

“Freshly cooked fish from Greeks who know how to cook!”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

Have been visiting this family run fish restaurant for the last 11 years. We drive over 30 miles on a Friday evening to sample their delicious fish.
Its a traditional fish and chip shop with a restaurant attached to it. The fish is always cooked after you order, none of this pre cooked, re-heated rubbish you find in bigger chains.

They offer a variety of fish that can be grilled, fried in batter or matso meal. The fish is always white inside and the the size of it always exceed the oval plate it sits on, it is huge!
The chips are always fried in groundnut oil and are always served fresh and dry, no oily, bitty chips here.

Don't come here if you're in a rush. They take great care in preparing your food and its always worth the wait. Try the grilled sea bass..... its to die for!

“Its All Relative”
Reviewed December 21, 2011

Excellence these days is a much over rated tag plus its all relative anyway. For instance, Paps is a fish and chip restaurant on a parade in Southgate. There are no stunning views, no deferential (or silver!) service and no art masquerading as food. What there is here is excellent fish and chips, fish fresh as a daisy and chunky chips cooked in nut oil. Lovely!
