Me and my partner opted to stay over in London the night before travelleling to Paris on the eurostar. The fairway hotel was so close, and it was relatively cheap so booked a room. We also booked a room for the night we got home, to save us having to travel late at night back home up north.
The first night in the Fairway, we were greeted by welcoming staff and were told where our room was (accross the road). We had a lovely room, although rather small. beds uncomfortable, but we didn't mind as we were excited about our trip away the next day. Breakfast was nice, cooked breakfast optional.

The night we returned from Paris, was horrid. We stayed in the central hotel opposite fairway... Which we had no idea about as that was not where we ad booked. The room literally just fit a bed in it and NOTHING else. It was at the top of the stairs and heard kids running up and down all night. There was nowhere to store our bags, it was like being in a prison cell. Worst nights sleep I've ever had.

Overall, you couldn't get a better location for access to St Pancras and Kings Cross. Shame the 2nd night let it down so badly. Would not return there.

We stayed at this hotel as our son was in Great Ormund Street Hospital. Great location as it was only a 10 min walk from the hospital and close to everything else. Very friendly staff especially Gabriella as she did everything in her power to fit us in at last minute!
Rooms were very inviting, extremely comfortable beds! and very clean. We have stayed in a very up market hotel in london closer to Great Ormund street before and that was double the price of the Central Hotel with no added extras!
The Central hotel has everything you could want and prices are great. Will definatly be staying there from now on!

Amazing location - we travelled in and out of London alot throughout our trip, so it was really convenient having St Pancras/Kings Cross so close by.

In terms of the space, don't expect much. The rooms and bathroom are small, and the furnishings were quite dated. The beds and pillows weren't the best either.

Also, do note that there isn't a lift - so it's bit of a hassle getting to the top floor if you have alot of luggage. (Maybe you can request ground floor?)

We also tried the free English breakfast, and it was okay - it's not anything amazing, but it is quite substanial considering it's complementary. (However you also do leave the breakfast room with the smell of oil/bacon in your clothes...)

Overall because of the location, I would recommend if you're only planning a short visit, and if you'll mainly be out and about. The staff were also very friendly and helpful throughout our entire stay.

Great location opposite st Pancras station, close to pubs and restaurants. The rooms are quite small, but clean(ish). Its pretty much what you'd expect for that price in the centre of London. Wifi worked fine. Didn't try breakfast.

An ideal location-lots of hotels in this area so it's hard to know what you're getting. This proved very basic, felt more like a hostel with a shabby reception area and dirty carpets on the stairs . The room was predictably small, uncarpeted and sparsely furnished. We had been told our room would be ready though we were arriving slightly before check-in time;it wasn't, but would be only a few minutes as it was still being cleaned. It was nearer half an hour and there was little evidence of cleaning-a lot of the recent occupant's long dark hair was still in the shower cubicle and on the floor. I mentioned this next day and it was attended to. There was little choice at breakfast-the only bread available was white sliced, I don't know what the continental visitors thought of that. The kitchen opened into the breakfast room and I could smell bacon on my clothes and hair all day!
On the plus side, the staff were helpful and the beds comfortable enough, and there's an excellent pub 2 mins. walk away. However, we are staying elsewhere in the area on our next visit.

I've stayed at this hotel twice and i never found anything to complain about. The location is simply great, just opposite Kingscross/St. Pancras station which is very central. Its location makes it also very easy to travel to and from airport. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and room was very clean. The rooms are small, as in any other budget hotel in london, but are comfortable enough. Shops, pharmacy, restaurants and pubs are all within short walking distance. It is great value for money and will definitely consider it for my next trip to London.

Room Tip: I would suggest an ensuite room and also to ask for a ground floor room if available as there is no...

Booked a double room in advance of our planned weekend in London with a Saturday overnight stop. We chose this area because we were travelling to and from Euston and going out in the evening to North Islington so the location is ideal as just across the road from St. Pancras and Kings Cross and only a 20 minutes walk to Oxford Street.
The reception area was under going refurbishment and the "double" room and bed was very small as was the shower room. However it was reasonably comfortable and quiet and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Full English Breakfast was basic but edible (good coffee). Would not recommend a stay for more than 2 nights but ok for an overnight sleep over.
