“First Class hotel in a great location”
Reviewed April 5, 2014

This hotel is in the process of being renovated and the new rooms are stunning and spacious.
decorated in soft pastel colours, each room has a unique bit of furniture in it to add to the final
touch
.The bathrooms are a beautiful grey and white marble, all rooms have bath/shower combo, some rooms have a separate bath and shower. Everything has been thought of make one's stay one to remember.
I would say it is worth upgrading to one of their executive rooms as it allow access to their lounge
where continental breakfast is served and Odevres are served thru out the day and night, all drinks are complimentary including alcoholic drinks like wine and beer a good place to relax after
a hard days shopping

There is also a fully equipped fitness centre as well as full sized pool a rare thing to find in the
West end of London.

Now for those who love their food, I must say the food in the hotel Lanes of London Restaurant is amazing and such a selection to choose from and delicious. Their deserts are a must, Jammy Dodgers home baked shortbread, strawberry jam, homemade strawberry liqueur, strawberries and cream is just one from a great selection. All in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere.

Then to finish of the evening they have the stunning luggage room where one can relax with ones favourite nightcap

The hotel is in a great location with oxford street just around the corner and its an easy commute into the city nearest tube station is Marble Arch.

We stayed in this hotel for a long weekend to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday and weren't disappointed. From the moment we arrived until the moment that we left the hotel and staff were excellent. Ideally situated at Marble Arch, the shopping in Oxford Street was literally just around the corner. The breakfast in the hotel was substantial to say the least and dinner was equally impressive. We had a drink each in the bar but, although the bar itself was excellent, we were put off further visits by the London prices (£15 for a pint and a small red wine). Having said that, when we are next in London there will only be one place to say! Highly recommended

Enjoyed a relaxing weekend at this hotel, its location steps from almost everywhere in London (oxford street, park lane, hyde park) and then can get everywhere with the tube and taxis. Service and facilities at the hotel are excellent and could not fault them, especially some staff

Have been coming to The Marriot Park lane for the past 11 years and it just gets better! The staff are superb, they are friendly helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Our reservation Manager Yukari is wonderful and always looks after our needs from making our reservation, until we leave - she is a true credit to the company. Can't imagine never coming here and the Hotel is still my preferred choice for any shopping trip to London, the location is fantastic only 2 minutes walk from Selfridges, 15 minutes to Harrods or Harvey Nichols

Nothing is ever too much trouble, from greeting us with an umbrella upon arrival in the rain, to chatting to our grandson with his lovely new teddy given by a lovely man who was on reception, Throughout the weekend we were all made to feel totally at home. The only problem was we should have stayed longer!
Our suite was wonderful, spacious, well equipped , with little touches that make all the difference. The service in the restaurant was exemplary; helpful, courteous staff; although our choice of food was perhaps wrong from the new menu........need to try this one again! Watch this space we will update.

I really cannot fault this hotel, its main strength is the staff and location, I am always truly sad to leave.
I honestly cannot wait to return for a longer stay next time!

I stayed here for 4 nights in late Feb, early Mar. This was my first trip to London, so I chose the hotel based on a colleague's rave reviews and its proximity to Hyde Park. I am so glad that I did. My sister and I arrived early in the morning, tired from our flight and soaking wet because we had elected to walk from Paddington to the hotel (it's only about a mile, not too bad - just maybe not a good idea in pouring rain). The staff at the door were very welcoming and immediately took our bags, while the front desk quickly got us into a nice room overlooking the Marble Arch. We were able to shower and get back out the door in just an hour or so after arriving. The room was small (two single beds) but well appointed and comfortable, and I was happy to find an electric kettle in the room. Though our room was close to the busy intersection with Oxford St, it was quiet and we had no trouble sleeping. We picked the right time of year, as the hotel itself was also very quiet, so I can't say if we didn't hear neighbors because of good sound insulation, or because we didn't have any! I am Platinum, so we we were able to take advantage of a really great concierge lounge. Alina in the lounge is very friendly, always welcoming and ready to get anything you need. The lounge breakfast is very good, and we were happy to save some $$ that we would have spent on breakfast outside the hotel. We were even able to leverage the evening hors d'oeuvres for dinner a couple of times. We didn't use the gym or pool, but did go downstairs to check them out. The pool is absolutely beautiful. As for the location, Hyde Park is immediately across the street, and the subway is right there. Selfridge's is only 2 blocks away down Oxford St. Kensington Palace, Harrods, Buckingham Palace are all 1-1.5 miles away - if you are accustomed to walking, then do it, especially when you get to cross through Hyde Park to get there. Walking is very easy in London. Great trip, and Marriott Hotel Park Lane is definitely at the top of the list for a return trip.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing Hyde Park, if possible.

Went to this hotel with my family this past summer. Staff was great, executive lounge is a must as is free for Marriott Platinum members. As with most Marriott's in Europe you can choose to have your breakfast in the lounge, or in the restaurant. This is convenient when one or the other is crowded.
The location is great in some respects. You are directly across from Hyde Park and just across the street from a subway line. The problem with the subway line is that for you to go to most of the popular sights you have to change line, which can get quite crowded at times. If I went back I would stay on the south end of Park Lane.

Room Tip: You need a suite for a family

I've been staying at Marriott hotels for the past 7 years on a regular basis, mainly for business purposes. I've stayed at the Park Lane Marriott on two occasions so far this year, both for pleasure purposes, with family and friends.

From the first impression upon being courteously greeted at out taxi by the doorman, to the warm, efficient and welcoming reception at the front desk, to the member of the housekeeping team who we passed in the corridor who smiled and said " welcome to our hotel", through to the attentive staff in the executive lounge, the whole experience was simply first class.

The first time we stayed was a weekend, the second midweek, but the service and attention to detail was exactly the same and quite impeccable. What I really appreciated was the balance they achieved between being genuinely attentive without being intrusive of in any way false or over the top.

Service like this doesn't happen by chance and I take my hat off to the management team who have clearly worked very hard to archive such high standards of consistency and attention to small details. The rooms were spotless, well appointed and comfortable. These are the qualities I have come to expect of the Marriott brand which is the reason I return week after week. They really are home from home but this is quite special!

I'm looking forward to my next stay which is likely to be a business trip later this month.

Well done and thank you to everyone at the Park Lane Marriott!

Room Tip: Given its location on junction of Park Lane and Oxford Street you'd expect more noise but hotel...
