I went with family members for a sunday lunch. We had planned to have sunday roast and a few drinks. There were 5 of us and we booked in advance.
The pub itself was OK as a venue - quite a cute restored building, the food on the other hand was awful. The Roast chicken was so dry i wasn't able to finish it. My niece who had the roast beef said it was over done on the outside and too pink on the inside. The only "good" bit of food was the pudding - sticky toffee pudding and icecream. This was cooked properly and tastey, but you cant eat pudding alone.
the service was so slow, we had to keep trying to get the attention of the waitress as we regularly ran dry of drinks and they never came to us to ask for more drinks. We had to get their attention first. She was very polite, just not often around and it was only about 1/2 full
I wouldnt recomment this pub for food. The drinks prices were also too high - a double JD and coke was £7.40 - a good £2 more than the west end pubs which are usually considered expensive. All in all, a very disappointing lunch - as I couldnt finish mine, I actually got takeaways later.
