“Basic & great location”
Reviewed March 29, 2014

Your basic compact room but comfy and clean as well as in a great location. Right out front of the St. Paul's cathedral and by the tube station (St. Paul's). Lots of restaurants and some bars around there. On each floor there is a water bottle filler with bottles you fill yourself, so it's convenient. The lobby has internet (the rooms have wifi too) and some light snacks/drinks. There isn't a bar, so it's not a social scene. I never used the bus but there is a stop in front (hop on/off tickets) and cabs are readily available.

I booked this room for an overnight work trip, through my corporate travel desk.

Checking in and out was very easy; the hotel was welcoming and the staff friendly. The room was compact, which was fine for a short stay; and otherwise clean, neat and comfortable. The only drawback was the noise level - the air conditioning was quite loud and the windows were not double-glazed, allowing a lot of outside traffic noise in. As well as the standard kettle the room came equipped with a microwave oven and refrigerator.

Overall - a basic room but clean, comfy and good value for money given the excellent location.

Stay in Grange St Pauls usually but have always seen this Hotel on trip advisor as a highly rated alternative. This weekend thought we would give it a try. The old saying " you get what you pay for" is very true. This place is cheaper because it it is not as good as other hotels in the area.
Firstly.there is No Bar, you can have a drink in Cote Brasserie but that is a restaurant not a bar.
Air con is available but apparently is overidden by "the computer". So a we have just returned to a room that we thought would be comfortably cool, instead to a room in which the air con has been heating all day. It is now 12.10am and we are sitting here with both windows open trying to cool down and wondering how we will sleep through the noise of traffic outside.
The room is small the bed is also small. The bathroom is basic. You would be better off in a premier inn.
This is the trouble with Trip advisor, if people's expectations are low then a poor Hotel like this can appear to be highly rated.
Take it from me look around and only stay here as a last resort

Room Tip: Rooms are small and basic. Air con is a joke.

This hotel is down the street from the underground and is right in front of the bus stop! We purchased hop on hop off tickets and the bus stop was right outside the door. The room are nice and look almost exactly like the photos. Our room had a frig and microwave, so we bought frozen dinner across the street from a grocery store. They have free unlimited water for all of their guests. Only downside was that there weren't many places to eat nearby, most were at least a ten minute walk. Overall the location was worth the money we paid for the room.

A very reasonably priced hotel for location and quality of room, we upgraded to a Superior 3 bed with kitchenette and was well worth it. Had everything you needed even Sky Sports!!!!!!!! Free cold water in bottles supplied on each floor and a very nice £40 discount voucher for a second visit! The main bed was very large (could sleep 4!!!!) though the 3rd bed was a foldout bed which was OK.

Staff were very friendly and you were made to feel welcome. Lovely location about 50 metres from St Paul's front entrance and sitting in the Cóte Brassiere outside watching the world go by was strangely very relaxing. We woke to the sounds of St Paul's bells Sunday morning which was a nice touch and all part of the price!!! lol.

Only negatives was it's not well sign-posted and for drivers no parking nearby except Baynard House Car Park, about 4 minutes walk which is £2.50 from 1.30pm Saturday to Sunday evening per visit (2014).

Room Tip: Only a few rooms face onto the main road and not many have a clear view of St Pauls.

Good locations for those who want to work in the Citi of London - accessible on foot from underground and 10 minutes walk to London Wall etc.
Extremely compact - minor space in the room. Interesting feature is check-out at the "ATM" - no personal service.

Conveniently located a short walk from St. Pauls underground, this was a plasant hotel in a good area. Room was generous - based on other comparably-priced hotels I'd stayed in - with a good wet-room type bathroom. Shower was nice and powerful, bed comfortable and all the usual amenities. Of particular note was the complimentary lounge where you could grab a tea, coffiee, chilled water or can of pop - free! There were even chilled water stations near the lifts where you could fill a bottle and take with you. Ok, it's all built in to the overall cost but it's a nice touch and certainly adds to the experience.

The breakfast was certainly one of the best I've had in a hotel in a very long time. It may seem a bit expensive initially at £13 - and you can get a full English at a few other places in the area - but consider that a tea/coffee is about £2, fruit juice about the same, full English about £8...and the price starts to look about right for the area and for what you're getting.

Would certainly come back and would recommend

Room Tip: We stayed in 339 which was around the side and was nice and quiet
