Two things usually detract from centrally located hotels in London: small rooms and high prices; however, CQ St. Paul's has managed to buck that trend with reasonable sized rooms and a price well below the norm. Other reviews have detailed the advantages of the hotel's location but other small but important advantages are the size/speed of the elevators being better than most, communal family/living room on the ground floor and speedy check-in and out. Also, I arrived about two hours before advertised check-in time and they had no problem getting into an available room. The only downside, if you are a light sleeper, is that the bells of a near-by clock can be heard every 15 minutes - all night. They weren't overly loud and I got used to it.

Location brilliant on-top of millennium bridge and St. Paul's cathedral. Wifi free and fast. Clean room comfortable with clean bathroom with shower. Tube station near by walking distance. Loved the water machine on ever floor with clean bottles for you to fill up! Great extra and coffee machine and goodies to help yourself to in lounge area. And the extras cupboard where you find iron and ironing board spare pillows ect all in all a great experience and great weekend in London. I will recommend this hotel to all.

This hotel was a cheaper option than many of the other tourist hotels, but it was certainly not a let down. Good sized rooms for a European hotel and very clean rooms. Literally next door to St. Paul's and very close to all the major London attractions (a few short stops on the Central Line). Free WIFI to boot. Would certainly stay here again.

Location: Brilliant, on Ludgate Hill, you can see St Paul's out of some windows.

Wifi: FREE and fast !

Room: Pretty large for a London hotel room, comfy double bed, large desk, proper desk chair, microwave, fridge. It is styled in a "manly" fashion, lots of blues and wood, but it isn't tired and everything was clean.

Bathroom: No bath, just a shower, but decent sized towels and all clean. Plenty of space to put toiletries.

Soundproofing: Surprisingly protected from outside noises, these did not bother met at all (I was 5th floor) - also reasonably protected from corridor noises as the rooms are slightly off the corridor in pairs. HOWEVER - my only criticism - the walls between the rooms are too thin - it is down to luck as to who you are next to (Hi to the couple that had sex at 9am last Sunday!).

Check-in: There is a receptionist, but there is a self-check in computer - if you have your reservation number to hand this is relatively simple and gives you your room key.

Overall: I would stay here again, just hope I get different neighbours next time.

I stay in the St Paul's area every month, usually at The Grange, but it was full so I booked Club Quarters for the first time. I was really disappointed. It was a third more expensive than what I usually pay at the Grange a few doors away (alas it was full) so I was expecting a real treat. What I got was something that reminded me of university halls of residence. If you're looking for just a place with a comfortable bed to crash in, this is fine. But if you're looking for a bit of a treat or a romantic weekend in London, or somewhere to stay for longer than one night this is not the place for you.
I can't knock anything at all about cleanliness or the staff, who were lovely. It's just the place. The walls are paper thin so you hear everything from footsteps to when everyone else is showering. Everyone seemed to wake up at 7.30 on a Sunday, and thanks to all the showering and slamming doors which rocked my bed, I was awake too after a late night. Also there was some kind of water pipe by my head which trickled all night and made me need the loo! The decor is just sad and depressing. It's not in need of a refurb exactly, just depressing. There's nothing here that makes you feel like you're on holiday or having a treat. Although I *was* safe, I didn't feel that safe because of the flimsy lock on the door and the ability to hear loads of people's every move. Many times I leapt up because someone closing their door felt like they had actually entered my room! The shower was ok. No bath and nothing special but perfectly fine and very clean. There's brutal strip lighting throughout. And there's a 2 inch gap under the bathroom door so if you're sharing you will be very familiar with your partner's bowels! What is good are the free water machines on every floor and the double glazing stopped any traffic disturbance. I guess I just thought that it was more expensive than the Grange so I expected it to be at least as good but they were utterly different experiences. I feel pampered at the Grange. All the decor is beautiful and perfect and spotless. This place felt so flimsy and depressing and unspecial. If you get a cheap deal and just want a place to crash with a comfy bed it will be fine, but if you want a treat I'd go to the Grange every time.

(Big shout out to my sister LMAON who has given this 5 stars... cool name sure)

Anyway as frequent readers will know I do not give 5s to places I haven't ate at so that clears that up.
As you might have guessed I felt this hotel looked a little dingy from the front. Inside its good though had a fascinating machine that fired out your room key.

So the room was clean with plenty of amenities; cutlery, microwave, mini conference table (complete with one of them big phones) et al. Free wifi throughout, free cooled water machines, free ice machines and vending machines ( which unfortunately weren't free, reasonably priced though).

Complimentary luggage holding is a rarity so we were pleased with that.

Overall a good hotel in a good location ( I can confirm it is that close to St. Paul's) Would stay again.

Excellent hotel for both business and leisure! Was pleasantly surprised at size of room and the fact that it also had a mini kitchen containing cutlery, plates mugs etc. Free drinking water and bottles supplied, as well as unlimited tea and coffee. Staff very helpful and pleasant. There is also a holding room for baggage free of charge which was great as we had a late evening flight.
Good location convenient to St. Paul's tube station, Blackfriars station, museum of London.
Would deffinetly return!
