Lovely theatre. The picture you see here is rather surprising, it doesn't look so shabby! In fact, it gives the feeling that it's been recently refurbished, it's a beautiful theatre in gold, baby blue, and cream. The seats were matching blue, quite comfortable, not one of those deflated cushion seats. Compared to many theatres I've been in London, the seatings are nicely staggered so no one's head was in the way (unless you are particularly tall) - important as the stall prices were dear (£80+). The rows are quite narrow though so if you're in the middle, arrive at least 15min early.
In regards to the play itself, beautiful production, excellent casting, great story telling. Again, thought the tickets were very pricey (when it was on Donmar, it was probably heck of a lot cheaper) but it was worth it if you want to treat yourself. Donmar, btw, is right behind this theatre, worth signing up to see what's coming on.

This play is week on plot, filled with gratuitous swearing, including excessive use of the word “C**t!” I am no prude but dislike repeated expletives, when they are thrown in, just for effect and nothing to do with the plot. The first act was reasonably entertaining and left one expecting a satisfying finale but this did not materialise, the second act was pointless, disappointing and boring.

Lee Evans, despite apparent acclaim for his portrayal of Darnley, was just himself, doing his usual gormless impression of Norman Wisdom, on a bad day. I am not surprised that tickets are seriously discounted and that the play will shortly close. Don’t waste your money.

Lee Evans and Sheila Hancock made the play. A lot of swearing but you never heard it in the end as it was part of the play. Only went to see this as I like both Lee Evans and Sheila Hancock.

I booked this as a Christmas present for my daughter. Chose a box in order to make the theatre experience more special. We had a 2 seater box situated off the dress circle and had a most enjoyable experience.
The theatre is very clean and appears recently refurbished. The show is excellent and stars Sheila Hancock & Lee Evans. Book now since closes saturday 4 January.

The Wyndhams Theatre is lovely and the staff were very good, I cannot fault how helpful and say how polite they were, we were looking forward to seeing this show however, apart from the swear words that voices were raised for, much of the dialogue was inaudible. We were aware that there would be a lot of swearing, but thought that it would be for artist requirements and befitting the culture that the storyline was built around - however, the constant use of the c* word was in my opinion a lack of imagination on the writers behalf, especially as this was what caused most of the audience to explode with laughter, very disappointed.
