“Game of two halves!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 17, 2013

My partner and I visited this restaurant with the 4 course lobster wowcher deal twice. Initially a few months ago we attended without complaint. Unfortunately our second visit was a different matter. The dim sum first course had halved in size, the WHOLE lobster noodles had been replaced by a QUARTER duck, the amount of beef and choi sum also appeared to have halved in the black bean main, the dessert was unchanged. Having the opportunity to compare both visits I had some misgivings as to how a restaurant could claim to have supposed supply chain issues for lobster whilst still offering it on their front window AND replacing it with an item that is clearly worth significantly less than the item it was meant to be equivalent to. I was about to accept these facts as a business making a relatively amoral cost-saving decision and think no more of it, however on nearing the exit, the manager then presented us with a bill for £2.60 and on saying we were not asked to pay gratuity on the last occasion (already annoyed about the aforementioned) he suggested in that instance we should pay double. I did leave what change I hadnd left though do wonder if that small change was really worth the fact that I will definitely never return to this restaurant again.

“Top Quality Dim Sum”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 3, 2013

Went for lunch today on the recommendation of my son. Great Dim Sum as good, if not better than Soho in West End, and cheaper. We ate more than enough and got change from £30 (no drinks). Excellent value for London. Will go again. Poor atmosphere as it was a midweek lunchtime and was almost empty, otherwise great

“wowcher deal”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 28, 2013

Arrived to an almost empty restaurant. Two waitresses hovered around us continually whisking away finished dishes which seemed to have been prepared well in advance of our arrival. Lobster was swimming in sauce with a blob of noodles underneath, fish was tough and not tender and flaky like other lobster i'd eaten. Beef in black bean sauce was fatty and slimy but rice was ok. The waitress asked whether we wanted dessert and we accepted. Apparently it was meant to be mango pudding.....it was two slightly flavoured blancmanges covered with a teaspoon of evaporated milk. i would not have paid the full price for this meal as it was rather disappointing and somewhat rushed. Couldn't wait to just pay and leave, will definitely not return with or without a voucher.

“Very ordinary”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

Can't really say anything too bad about this place. The food was ok, the service was ok and that is all.
Thankfully we had a discount voucher otherwise we would be very disappointed. Difficult to park in surrounding streets as it is in middle of Golders Green but it is close to the underground station.
