Booked this weekend break a few months ago on spec. The hotel is in a lovely area of south kensington near the glouchester road tube station. The hotel is very chic and an impressive lobby area and bar. The staff were very helpful and friendly and our room although small was beautifully decorated and had everything you needed from toiletries upwards.
There is a starbucks cafe with outside table and chairs and in a short walk you are at the main street with lovely bars, cafes and restraunts with every budget in mind!! The olive bar and restraunt has a fab 2 course menu for £9.50 and happy hours from 5.00pm to 7.30p.m fantastic value for money and beautiful inside with attentive staff that make you feel welcome. Will always book this hotel when ever we c ome to the capital, its one of the best values for money ive had!!!

I have stayed in a Mercure before in North Cyprus which was really good but this hotel was a real disappointment given how much we paid for the room on a last minute deal (£150 for one night). The room was a standard double room (room 311) - on arrival, reception area is nice enough, but that is as good as it got. Our room was tiny - me and my wife are not slim but we are not big either and we barely had enough space to walk around the bed and there was a ridiculously small space where the toilet was situated. You clearly need to be a size 6 and even then you will struggle. There was a horrible stain to the entrance of our room and when when flagged it, they must have known about it, but was completely dismissive. We were supposed to have a complimentary mini-bar, which consisted of two small bottles of mineral water. This was a rip-off. Location is not bad, short walk from Earls Court Station, but have to say we will not be going back there again and I would advise you to think twice before booking here. Given I had booked it as a surprise weekend break for my wife's birthday we felt really let down.

Room Tip: don't choose room 311 (if other rooms are like this then as one previous trip advisor states, le...

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to post your review.

Our rooms vary in size from small doubles to king executive. The size of our small doubles is clearly mentioned on the websiteas we do not want to misguide our guests, We are currently looking at ways to improve comfort in these particular rooms.
I am aware of the stain that you photographed and it is being dealt with. The entire room will be recarpeted.
I hope you will not judge us solely on this experience and I hope you will be inclined to use us again.

Kindest regards,

This hotel was clean , service was decent and reception staff helpful. Excellent location close to the tube station, bus stop & taxis. Proximity to the museum area & an easy walk to high st. Kensington. Convenient for business as well as holiday. Decent breakfast.

Don't expect too much space in your room, I know this is the norm. in some hotels in the UK & Europe. I had approx. 50cm of space around the front and side of the bed. Small cupboard and small desk that is taken up with the TV. Bathroom was ok, with shower pressure good and hot, the toilet roll holders were a little annoying for a broad shouldered lad :)

Breakfast was ok and room service meals were good. Staff were very friendly, especially the lovely hospitality shown by a great Samoan guy, who's name escapes me. But he was fantastic!!

Room Tip: Don't let your work book rooms for you, especially if they haven't experience

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your review.
I am delighted to read that you enjoyed our services and hospitality, our aim is to deliver memorable service and delicious food.
Our room sizes vary from small doubles to king executive. We are aware that our small doubles are not to everyone liking. We are continuously looking at ways to improve comfort in these particular rooms.
For future stays my personal suggestion would be to book one of our King Executive rooms or Privilege rooms as they are very spacious and accommodate a king size bed.
We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back on many future occasions.
