“Nice hotel in a convenient location”
Reviewed July 3, 2012

The Mercure London Kensington Hotel is located a short ten minute walk from the Gloucester Road or Earls Court stations on the Picadilly line. Its a small hotel, nicely decorated with an updated look. Although the rooms are very small they are immaculately clean and perfect for a comfortable sleep. The lobby includes a bar and lounge area along with a coffee bar. Its a comfortable place for having a drink and conversation anytime of the day or night. The hotel staff is very friendly and the porters, Daniel and Manase, were always courteous, friendly and efficient whether assisting at the front desk or serving drinks from the bar. A grocery store is located a couple of blocks from the hotel and the neighborhood offers a variety of restaurants, pubs and shops. Being located on the Picadilly line made transportation easy for Heathrow or popular areas of London. The combination of location, comfort, cleanliness, reasonable rates and friendly staff make this our first choice for a hotel on future trip to London.

Thank you for giving us 5-out-of-5! We do offer great value in the heart of London considering we are a newly refurbished 4-star hotel.

Was initially booked into a standard room but was worth the extra upgrade to a Privilege room. The rooms were clean and the nespreso machine and complimentary soft drinks were a bonus. One of the few hotels that had an iron and ironing board in the room as well.
The entire experience was topped by the service we received from Raj at the front desk.
He took exceptional care of us. From recommending the room upgrade to which restaurants to eat at and which were the most economical travel options to the airport. He truly made our stay perfect. I would stay there again just because of the service we received.
Hotel is well located near two underground stations and the bus stop right outside the hotel. There are very good places to eat with 10 minutes walk from the hotel. I would recommend not taking the breakfast with room. Although the breakfast is good you must try a breakfast at the nearby pubs.

Booked the hotel through there own web site and got a better deal than I could find elsewhere. My wife and I were extremely pleased with the hotel! It wasn't to far from a tube station but u did have to cross 1 of the main roads into the city to get to it but there's a crossing so that's ok! The hotel is nice n modern! The room itself was amazing! Unusually it looked exactly like the pictures on there web site!!! We were so pleased I signed up for a loyalty card because I can see us using this hotel a lot!!! It really was very good!!!!

Booked via comparison website as relatively cheap for the specification, and turned out to be very good value. Slightly dubious on checking in, as one of our 2 rooms seemed to be missing and while we were waiting for it to be located about 4 people came to reception with complaints, but once we were settled we were very impressed. Rooms were spotless, very comfortable, modern and well appointed; my only gripe was that the windows don't open so we had to have the air-con on all night. Excellent location within walking distance of museums, Kensington and Hyde Park. Decent breakfast, although dining area very small and staff overstretched. I would happily recommend/stay again.
