The Castle Bar

The hotel was absolutely great. The one thing I would add would be private bathrooms. Apart from that, the staff is really kind and helpfully, you can leave your bags with them on the last day if you want to still wander around, the cleanliness and comfort are exactly right, and the prices could not be better! Totally recommend it

Have to agree with many of the reviews already left. The Castle Bar isn't the Ritz by any means but it is cheap, ideally located for Central London and spotlessly clean.

Me and the Old man were down at the weekend for a gig at The Forum which is only a 10 minute walk. The nearest tube is Caldonian Rd (5 min walk) or there is a bus stop right outside which will take you into Camden Town. And yes you are right outside a busy Road but again, it's Central London, what else do you expect??!!

Overall i thought it was excellent value for money and I'll definitely stay here again.

For anyone unfamiliar with London transport system make sure you buy an Oyster card which will allow you to travel on Buses and the Tube. You 'top-up' your card and it deducts money after each journey. once you have reached £8.40 you travel free for the rest of the day. This is ideal if you are going out to see the sights during the day and then back out at night.

Room Tip: I would imagine the higher you are the less you will get disturbed by the street below.

The entrance and hall-way have a hostel feel to them but the room was lovely, bathroom facilities very nice and clean - most importantly the staff were really friendly and the breakfast was awesome.

We picked this place purely based on its proximity to The Forum in Kentish Town and its price and we were really pleasantly surprised.

I stayed here with my son for a trip to see an Arsenal match.I was worried that for such a cheap price it would be hovel but I was pleasantly surprised. Although it clearly needs a makeover,it was very clean and the room was very spacious and even came with tea/coffee making facilities and a decent t.v. One major minus was the noise from traffic. If you are a light sleeper, this is probably not the place for you.The windows must be single glazed. If this isn't a big issue then I would readily recommend the Castle Bar. It was within walking distance to the Emirates stadium, and the tube.

We chose this bed and breakfast since it was close to the main convention site (I was visiting London Anime Con at the Rocket Complex) in Holloway Rd. Beds are really comfortable and rooms are spaceous. There is a bathroom on each floor, so it's shared facilities, but myself and my mother wasn't bothered about that. Very clean and the management of the B&B were friendly as.

The breakfast was really lovely as you could choose from a full english, continental or anything else like omelettes. There was tea, coffee and cereals to choose from as well. Really huge portions of breakfast as both myself and my mother ordered the continental breakfast and we got a big plate with two slices of cheese (not the rubbery stuff), ham (same again), three slices of toast and one large croissant. We also got a bowl of fresh fruit - red and green grapes, kiwi fruit, oranges and peaches.

The B&B itself doesn't have a time limit on what time you have to get in, so you could go out for a night at a nightclub to say for example 2am and still go in as they give you a door key so it's exactly a home away from home. Tea, Coffee and Chocolate with kettle and fridge is in the room, so you can take a little pint of milk and have a cup of tea on a night.

Stayed here in may for a concert up at the hmv forum.First my booking dates were wrong but i got the double bed room when we got there so that was good.We stayed in the very top atic double room which had a broken blind on the window which we tried to fix as it was very hot and the sun was blinding coming though .The bed was the best thing and slept like a baby,The shower room has a broken shower and there were dirty knickers left on the floor and i was told nothing about any breakfast. The people were very nice but its cheap and nasty but ok to stay in if you need that area.I was told that there was parking but there was only 1 place and then we got blocked in by another car in the evening but was gone in the morning lucky for us.Its a quick n clean fix and i would stay again if i needed that area.

Room Tip: Top floor rooms are very hot if in summer but away from noise

Stayed here a few times now - it's just by my office so it's handy for the xmas do, etc. It's a fairly rough and ready pub with rooms. It's not finished and furnished to any exacting standard, but it has comfy clean beds, a pretty good shower, and a nice breakfast. About all you need unless you want to spend £150 a night on a 'normal' hotel.
