Having seen a feature on the chocolates at Cocomaya in a magazine I had already decided to visit but didn't know they also had a bakery/cafe attached. This review is about the Connaught Street branch but I'm sure they all maintain the same high standard.

I chose a fresh soup with seeded bread & earl grey tea as a mid afternoon snack. The soup was really wholesome & full of flavour & the bread was amazing! The tea was loose leaf & served in a china tea pot with matching (or fashionably mis-matching) cup & saucer, perfect.

Having finished eating & drinking I went next door to buy some of the chocolates, all of which were beautifully presented & extremely good quality with some original flavours to complement the classics, it was hard not to buy one of everything, actually think I pretty much did buy one of everything..! Unfortunately I don't think you can buy the individual chocolates online yet only some of the bars, but hopefully soon. I also bought some of the marmalade & jam which were equally impressive, yes the products are expensive but they are delicious, so worth it for a treat once in a while, or as gifts - including to yourself of course.

It was one of the nicest London cafe/shop experiences I have had in a long while, the staff were really friendly & helpful, both in the bakey & in the chocolate shop next door & the food, drinks & chocolates were all fantastic. Will definitely be visiting again.

i had my birthday in the chocolate shop for 18 people...rye bread sandwiches with various fillings, scones with homemade jam - everyone's favourite was banana and something and an abundance of pastries and cakes. the service was (before and during) simply fabulous, the atmosphere and surroundings were perfect and there was a generous time limit of 3 hours...i've been to a number of afternoon teas in london, at both famous venues and other hotels...cocomaya is a must visit if you are looking for a personal and contemporary take on the traditional. 18 people say 'must visit' !! :)

This little gem is one of the best pastry shops in London - it has delicious pastries, my favourites being the almond croissants and the chocolate cake - WOW. I am here every sat and sun morning for my fix!
I take every visitor from overseas here and they are always so happy I took them here.
I would also HIGHLY recommend there high teas-just at 25 GBP you get so much !!!the melt in your mouth pastries and delicious sandwiches (I went to the Dorchester and it was a HUGE dissapointment-Cocomaya beat them HANDSDOWN!)
Oh yes, your will also love the decor and the crockery - lots of different styles of china - so much fun
They also have a specialist chocolatier next door-again, a must for some treats to take home to share (or for yourself :o)
