“Independent cafe serving excellent food”
Reviewed August 8, 2013 via mobile

If you are visiting the British Museum then this is a great place for a light lunch. The best capuccino, hot chocolate and cake selection that we have seen, including gluten free options. Recommended for something a little different.

“Heavenly cakes!”
Reviewed July 23, 2013

I have only visited this cafe once but can't wait to go back again! The cakes are amazing - which to choose was a hard decision but in the end I opted for the pistachio and rosewater and it was one of the best cakes I've ever eaten. Everything else looked wonderful too and I look forward to trying something different next time......or will I be tempted by the pistachio again???

The staff were friendly and welcoming, and a bonus in hot weather is that the place is wonderfully cool and airy!

“A lovely little cafe with great selection”
Reviewed July 3, 2013

This cafe is attached to the London Review of Books bookshop, just round the corner from the British Museum. It means that you can browse books and flick through whilst having some lunch.

It has a great selection of different teas: different types of white, green, black, oolong and herbal. All very reasonably priced at £3-4 a pot, with fresh leaves that can be reused in the pot 2 or 3 times. All makes for extremely good value.

The food and snacks are delicious. Passion fruit cake, corguette cake, quiche, soup and salads all available. It is great quality, delicious and extremely good value. The cakes are around £3 a slice, baked locally and the menu changed weekly.

The service is great, with prompt table waiting and warm service. The only thing lacking is space; it gets very busy and slightly cramped at peak times. The decor is slightly budget with small tables and hard wooden chairs.

Would definitely recommend and revisit. Check out some photos.

“Excellent lunch time fayre”
Reviewed June 13, 2013

The choice of snacks on a lunchtime is really good and the quality superb. The salads type dishes are highly recommended. There is also a very interesting tea menu. Gluten free options are also available. We are never disappointed.

“A little gem of a cafe”
Reviewed June 12, 2013

We had an excellent lunch here from the interesting options on the chalkboard of today's menu - a bit different from the usual options but healthy and delicious. And the coffee is very good. It is a bit cramped and small but we were lucky to get a seat without a problem at lunchtime. Highly recommended.
