The choice of snacks on a lunchtime is really good and the quality superb. The salads type dishes are highly recommended. There is also a very interesting tea menu. Gluten free options are also available. We are never disappointed.

We had an excellent lunch here from the interesting options on the chalkboard of today's menu - a bit different from the usual options but healthy and delicious. And the coffee is very good. It is a bit cramped and small but we were lucky to get a seat without a problem at lunchtime. Highly recommended.

Whenever I am in the area, usually visiting the British Museum, I always stop here for lunch or just for coffee and cakes. It is the cafe/cake shop adjoining the London Review of Books bookshop which is also worth a stop.

The way it works is you grab a seat, if you can find one, and someone will come around to take your order.

The cakes are delicious. One of the managers makes the cakes herself and is very proud of them. The coffee is perfect. Really perfect. One of the staff has been in barista competitions. The tea selection includes Mariage Freres.

All that said, the place is tiny and many people get turned away. I usually plan in advance and try to come early. Because this place is worth it.

We visited the British Museum and then looked for somewhere for tea. This place is close and forms a separate (but adjacent and joined) area to an excellent bookshop. The seating area is fairly small and, during the weekend, the demand is great. The homemade cakes are delicious - and different. The teas are amazing: we tried an oolong tea called "Phoenix Honey Orchid". It tasted wonderful...more like a fine wine than a tea! And it is not expensive: a shared pot of tea was £3.65. The staff are knowledgeable and very helpful. All you have to do is read the full description on the tea menu and try one.

All the food here is delicious. The cakes and desserts are all homemade along with the main dishes. Browsing in the book shop is a delight too. Very hip place. Only downside, it's small so feel lucky if you get a seat!
