Good selection of beer

Great outdoor area, cozy and old pub feel inside.

Food is yet to wow me.

I would happily drink in this pub on a sunny sunday afternoon.

“Step back in time”
Reviewed March 25, 2013 via mobile

A friend brought me to this cosy pub in highgate village. It's quite quirky and split on many levels adding to its appeal. There is an amazing selection of beers many of them belgian. The staff were friendly and charming. Although I didnt eat - the food that came out to other tables looked delicious. Will defo be trying their Sunday lunch soon!

“Beta Sunday Roast”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

This little pub in Hampstead makes a great Sunday roast. My favorite is by far the schweinhaxe. This big piece of roast pork comes to the table like something out of prehistoric times. The crackling is perfect and the sliced potatoes and savoy cabbage are to die for. Don't miss this next time you find yourself near the Heath in Hampstead on a Sunday.

“The perfect old style pub.”
Reviewed January 21, 2013 via mobile

We stopped to have a drink on our walk and ended up having a few and some food. It looked like something in early England. Very cool. The bar was divided by a wall with 2 separate entrances because in the past women were not allowed on the men's side. There was even a drunk old Englishman yelling at the women telling them to leave. Ha! Had a great time. Worth having a drink if your in the area.

“Superb pub, great food, excellent service”
Reviewed December 30, 2012

Popped in on 30th December, and even though very busy, there was a table. Three of us had the Roast Lamb, with the other having a variance off the menu (sausage & chips, rather than sausage & mash) - which was no problem for the chef. Two desserts - sticky toffee pudding, plus waffles & fruit compote - all the food was excellent. Drinks were fine - cokes, glasses of Sauvignon, plus a couple of JD/lime/lemonade - made perfectly. Service couldn't have been better - waitress service for a pub made it very easy. Food arrived fairly quickly too. Buzz/atmosphere great too - posh/middle aged as you would expect in Hampstead! Thoroughly recommended!
