“Overnight weekend stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 28, 2013 via mobile

5 stars for a 5 star place. I've stayed in many hotels over the years and the service and quality here take some beating. The room spotless, the bathroom spotless, amenities spot on. We went out on the evening and asked if the water in the bathroom could be swept up. We came back and found the room as if we'd not even been in before - perfect! The mattress and peace and quiet made for an amazing nights sleep. As a Gold Elite I can highly recommend. Thank you ICH Westminster

Have stayed in numerous hotels over the years in London, mostly around the Oxford/Regent street area. I can defiantly say this hotel beat them hands down at relatively the same cost.
Situated right next door to Westminster Abbey, Houses of Parliament and the Eye ideal for sight seeing.
The room was very comfortable and quiet. The facilities were also above par with my room having a Nespresso machine free to use, a very nice touch for those that love fresh coffee in the morning.
The staff were always very attentive, especially the door staff who were always quick to help insisting you take a free hotel brolly if they thought it were going to rain.
Overall very impressed and will defiantly staf again on a personal basis rather than business.

I had a fairly frustrating experience at this hotel a few months back, and let them know it. I can say every concern was corrected!

I came in and the staff recognized me (which is either a nice compliment, or I complain well...) Stashia (sorry if I'm spelling that wrong) and Linda did an excellent job making me feel right at home. My stay was superb.

I'm also happy to give 5 stars because the truly astonishing moment came when my Royal Ambassador status got me an upgrade to the club lounge. Usually London is failry stingy when it comes to giving RAs anything beyond exactly what they're entitled to (see my last review of Park Lane, perfect stay, but only 4 stars. Stingy. RAs are your top one percent, you can't spare a breakfast buffet?...)

This is how 4 star in London should be. Here's hoping it stays that way. I will see you all again beiginning of next year

Hotel was amazing, great location right next to the tube station and also within walking distance of many attractions, good breakfast and above all the staff were really friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend for a stay in London.

We stayed at this hotel for my wife's 30th Birthday on 16th Nov 2013 for 2 nights. From the minute we arrived nothing was too much trouble the hotel is modern and buzzing, our room was upgraded to executive which was great. On arriving at the room it was great luxury with a huge comfy bed, lovely Molton Brown toiletries and an amazing rainfall shower with a bath that was huge and always at the perfect temperature. The hotel provided complimentary room service of champagne and a cake for my wife's birthday which was fantastic. The Bed was turned down in the evening with the next days weather left on the pillow and slippers at the side of the bed which was a lovely touch. We were treated like royalty from start to finish never opening a door and nothing being too much trouble, friendly helpful concierge arranged taxis, luggage storage on our last day. When next in London we would stay here again and recommend to anyone.

The hotel still looks very new, modern and inviting. Photos and descriptions on the website accurately show what to expect – rooms aren't the largest in the world, however they are certainly sufficient without feeling claustrophobic and have been designed with tasteful decor. Bed and linen all of good quality, so a perfect sleep was had.

Bathrooms in the superior rooms (I can't comment on the standard rooms) are spacious and have separate baths and showers. The shower cubicle is fantastic with an oversized shower head and plenty of hot water, there's nothing more irritating than starting the day with a cold shower! As some other reviews have mentioned, some water can enter the main bathroom floor after showering but it didn't personally cause me a problem.

Both check in and check out were easy, and the concierge team were happy to look after luggage upon checkout to make the most of the day before travelling home (I didn't expect anything less as service with a smile was received on all occasions). Having stayed here twice now, both occasions for a weekend break, I wouldn't hesitate to come back again if I could obtain the same rate as I've received on previous occasions!

Room Tip: Spend a little extra on a superior room.

We have just returned from an enjoyable weekend at this hotel.

We had booked a weekend certificate night at £505 King suite club level and checking noted that the prices now include a member price and well are cheaper (but read on all was not lost). Being as the certificate is issued with Ambassador status which you purchase (well worth it if you stay a couple of time a year), there is a garenteed upgrade, fruit, water and later check out.

From the monent you enter this hotel (and how bag disappears in the hand of a porter) , and the receptionist greets you as an honoured guest you know this is a 5 star hotel. Opened a year ago, you expect it to be new looking and now at its usual pace, but the slightest issue is seen as important and something to improve on.

Checking in, was fast and efficient, we were acknowledge as Ambassador member and upgraded to a duplex suite. Our 'host' left the desk to personally show us to the lounge (where I think you can also check in) and then to the bed room. He then proceeded to show us all the features of the room, he asked first, and even knew the kettle was upstairs in the bedroom cupboard. The staff are very proud of the hotel.

The room (Duplex suite) on two floors is elegant. Fitment is very high. The soaps and shampoos (largest bottles I have even seen) are numerous and open one and it is replaced. The room with a downstair loo (with shampoos why??) and lotions? is really good.

A couple of things could improve it. A handhold on the bath wall to hold onto as you get out of the shower and the rain head a little further from the taps and a hook to hang the towels. The towel metal bar is fine it you want to fold them again and what is the metal rail in the bath for?. The room has no ice bucket (has a mini bar if you are rich) and no mention of an ice machine - room service for ice is silly.

The clubroom stunning - the food really good. The breakfast is good, scrambled eggs the first day a little runny and when asked we told the staff. I think the chef was put on sucide watch and the following day they remembered and ask if they had improved. You can order egg anyway you like - but the menu or staff do not mention this. The toilets in the club room have a full shower facilily? odd but a 5 star touch. Every staff member remembers who you are and when walking back into the club room you are greeted - no challenged!

The Blue Boar restaurant is really good, again the little things, serving hot meat on a metal tray may look stylish but the food goes cold before it gets to the table. the 'biscuits' to go with the pulled meats were rolls, shame. Attentive service is never far away and when asked how the meal was - were gave our opinion - serve it on hot plates. The restaurant manager (Italian) offered another main course (we were full) but a nice touch and returned a minute later with two glasses of desert wine - Vino Santo (Italy) - really good - perfect. the serving staff also delivered a large pack of fudge - as the service of dessert was slow (we did not think so) - but again nice.

In summary - a classy 5 star, near Westminister - attentive staff - and worth paying the extra for - pay less by buying Ambassador status - Room 131 - is an elegant duplex suite.

Get best deal - which may not be with the weekend certificate.

The Tube St James is 20 metres away and Parliment and The Abbey 10 minutes walk.

To the staff -- thank you.

Room Tip: Room 131 - is good
