Owner description: Jason's Trip is the original Regent's Canal tour and has been operating since 1951. Jason is an authentic 100+ year-old canal boat which was originally used as a cargo-vessel on the canals before being fitted with a diesel engine and converted to passenger-carrying duties. The tour runs between Little Venice and Camden lock. It takes about forty-five minutes. On the trip from Little Venice up to Camden there is a live commentary from our trained guides who will tell you all about the canal's history from 1800 to the present day. There is no commentary on the Camden to Little Venice trips.

I'm a huge fan of Jason's Trip!!!! I cannot say enough about this very excellent way to spend an afternoon. One embarks at their slip and kicks back for the peaceful, fun, informative, relaxing, and thoroughly enjoyable ride to Camden. One of the best boating cruises I've ever taken and I take them wherever I go. Affordable, too.

Loved it, loved it, loved it.

I would recommend Jason's trip as part of a day out, which would incorporate camden market. The boat itself is nice, and the guide/hostess had good knowledge and made the 45 minute journey upto Camden lock worthwhile. Unlike most reviews here, the guide/hostess was friendly albeit a little bit rushed when trying to board/unboard passengers!
I made a reservation on Jason's website which I would definitely recommend particularly if the weather is good. The route itself is nice and you take in various sites including London Zoo and some very expensive houses and attractive gardens. As I mentioned earlier, we got off the boat at Camden lock and spent the rest of the day wandering around the market and eating at the many food stalls on offer; it made for a nice day out. The only criticism I have would be the lack of return journeys back to Little Venice, but that could be out of Jason's control considering the canals are home to many residents. Overall the boat trip was a nice experience and reasonably priced.

Overall a good experience and well worth doing both for tourists and for locals (I live in London) and in fact cant believe I have lived her for 40+ years and only just done this

On the plus side

- can reserved you place on line (recommended as nothing worse and turning up and its full)

- easy to find and 5 min walk from the tube

- nice canal boat near by selling coffee and breakfast if you want to arrive early

- boat trip very pleasant and a hidden gem in London to travel on a canal boat

- very informative commentary through the whole journey from the lady on the boat

- take you right to the door to Camden Lock Market

- Londons expensive (even a short black cab ride is £10+ / glass of wine £6+) so £30 in total for an hours boat trip for 2 adults and 2 teenagers was good value

Could be improved

- Seats like chairs in the school dinning hall (but were comfortable)

- The welcome when arriving on the boat was a bit frosty (that was the lady welcoming you on the boat as opposed to the October weather !) but that was balanced with her very informative commentary as above during the trip

The boat was nice, but the hostess was very demeaning. She was also very brusk and controlling. The scenery was nice, but one could get from point to point just as quickly by walking.

It was a very shining day during the trip on Jason boat , but we didn't see anything interesting. We'd like to reach London Zoo but there wasn't a stop near it.So we stopped at Camden Lock and we had a 20 min. walk . Guide on boat was rude and unfriendly.
