This is the second time I have stayed here and the location is perfect for accessing putney and all of the tube and overland rail stations. However, this time the weather has been warm and for some reason although they weren't full they put us in the highest room in the hotel with no air conditioning. It was not possible to sleep with the window open because of the noise of the road and the small desk fan provided didn't help much. Also, it's not the hotel's fault but they put us in the attic rooms alongside a family of five with young kids. From about 4am the kids started to play in the corridor outside our room, screaming, running around and banging doors etc. this carried in until they left at 9. The location of this hotel is great but the service needs some attention.

Having stayed here in Jul12, my wife and decided to opt for the hotel again for a recent visit to friends.

I believe last time we must have been very lucky as we had a standard room close to the lobby and it was very pleasant.

This visit, we opted for a premium room (which wasnt cheap at £170 per night not inc breakfast) and our room was actually smaller and farther away than the standard room we previously enjoyed.

we were also rather put out at how much the price increased during the weekend we visited. We were lucky to "only" pay £170, due to Murray's Wimbledon run the hotel were charging nearly over £400 per night for anyone who left it late!!

The rooms aren't great and are very, very small. and this seems to be the case whether you opt for a standard room or a premier room

Overall we both agreed next time we'll look elsewhere for cheaper or better appointed options

Used this hotel recently for its location near a live music gig.
No problems whatsoever. The staff were polite and pleasant. The room was at the rear, so no traffic noise. The hotel has its own parking which was a bonus as we were driving and continuing our journey into Kent on the following day.
Would certainly use again.

There are not many accommodation options in Putney, so by default we ended up at The Lodge Hotel. It's a cute place, renovated nicely, but it's essentially an old residence with creaky stairs and thin walls.
I wanted to write a review because the main thing that lets this place down is the customer service. The staff are not particularly friendly or welcoming, but also not downright rude. It was just that in almost every instance we engaged with an employee, they were surprised that a guest was interrupting them to ask a question. We walked away from the odd vibe of the place, feeling like we should have apologised for paying our bill and for taking up space in the house.

Room Tip: Ask for one at the rear to avoid the noise of Upper Richmond Road.

Went with friends to London for the weekend. In fairness it was unusually hot, but we were given a really really tiny room which was unbearably hot. We were given fans, but was like a sauna. As you were under the eaves, there was a bath but you could not stand up to have a shower - you had to kneel in the bath, which after a long hot day in London was really awful. When we complained, we were told they had problems with the room, so not sure why the continue to use it. We were moved on our second night to another room, which was also small, but alot better. We were also given a discount for the first night, although this was after alot of complaining. The location is handy and the lobby and bar are nice.

I cant say enough abouth this cute little hotel, situated very near the tube station, the bus stop and within walking distance of putney high street. Excellent rooms, clean, and a lovely bar and restaurant, and if you get a cheap rate it is a true gem!!
