“Excellent service, value & location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 6, 2013 via mobile

This is a really nice hotel in a great spot. The service is impeccable.
A minor gripe- the room I was in didn't have air conditioning and it was a sweltering day. They did try to change me to another (some do have it) but there were none available. I was brought a fan which was a nice effort at trying to help. The room was lovely & spotlessly clean.
Basically my tip is if you're staying in warm weather request a room with air con. I'd stay again no hesitation.

Stayed one night as usual hotel, Marriott at Twickenham was fully booked due to Chime for Change concert.

Family room for three adults was up four flights of narrow stairs, no lift available. The room was in the eaves with two sloping roofs. The shower had to be hand held as there was not enough height for it. Very small bathroom although water was very hot. One of the beds was also under a step slope, had to be careful not to sit up in bed!!

Car parking on site but spaces very small.

Free wifi was a bonus.

Breakfast was average, self service in the conservatory at the rear of the property.

Was okay for a one night base as we didn't spend much time in the room but room very claustrophobic for three adults

Room Tip: Room on top floor was in eaves, no lift

the hotel was situated perfectly for getting into Kensington to the galleries via the tube. then an easy drive to Chelsea for the flower show . the room was fine and reasonably well furnished with a lovely bath ( any bath anywhere after a wet day at Chelsea) would have been good. there could have been a few more sugars, teas and coffee in the room !!!
The hotel bar and eating areas were pleasant ( check out the Quay , Deganwy) same interior designer / independent hotels ? We ate in the Hotel restaurant the first night as we wanted an early night.... the food wasn't much to write home about and pushing a little disappointing if I'm being critical !! overall I would recommend the Hotel and would stay there again.

Stayed for two nights - first in a standard room which was very small, located in an annex which was probably in origin a garage with one small window on the side to a passageway giving access to other parts of the hotel. Another room above from which every noise was audible and a fault on the heating making it quite chilly. Requested another room, none available but at 8.30p.m. with heating fault not repaired offered a change of room. Having settled in we decided to leave it until morning and then, after some difficulty, moved to an executive room on first floor. Very different and quite acceptable. All rooms in contemporary style and perfectly acceptable but beware of standard rooms which are little more than for single occupancy and poorly placed. Staff on both days exceptionally polite and accommodating and upgrade on second night not charged because of the inconvenience. Parking at front and rear a plus but choose room carefully.

My first impression of this hotel was very good with a nice reception area and pleasant staff to welcome us. I was directed to my room and had to go through several doors and up two flights of stairs, with the staircases getting narrower. I was not offered any assistence with my 2 bags which was a surprise considering where the room was located.
On opening the room the first thing I noticed was the strange smell and immediately went to the window to open it. I then noticed an ashtray on the dressing table - do hotels still allow smokers? I thought that all rooms now were non smoking.
The room was compact but was nicely decorated. It was at the top of the building with an angled ceiling and skylight window but adequate for an overnight stay.
The television was located on top of a built in wardrobe. It was not plugged in so I had to get a chair and plug it in. The aerial was also disconnected. The volume on the telly would not turn up and even with the window closed I could not hear it because of the noise from the road.
I found the tea tray in the bottom of the wardrobe and to boil the kettle I had to stretch the lead under the dressing table which did not seem very safe as the lead was only just long enough with the kettle positioned on the edge.
Most disappointing though was the green mould around the plug hole in the sink which could easily be wiped off with a tissue and the brown scum in the bottom corners of the shower - not nice.
It seems there are some really nice rooms, that have 'no smoking' signs on them and some not very nice rooms. Apparently the hotel was fully booked so I was obviously the one that pulled the short straw.
Breakfast was very nice and the service was good but seemed expensive at £12.
There is nothing the hotel can do about the noise from the road, but they could make sure the equipment in the room is suitable for use and that the room is hygenic.
When I informed the hotel of all of my issues they said they would contact Housekeeping. This didn't help me but will hopefully improve things for others and reading previous reviews it sounds like I was unlucky and got allocated the last room in the hotel!

Room Tip: Unless you are a smoker make sure the room is non-smoking; check which room is being allocated to yo...
