My niece lives just around the corner and The Lodge was very convenient ;not only to see her but to get to central London from the East Putney tube stop. I had a luxury room which was snug, big bathroom with heated floors, two flat screens, very comfortable bed.( suggest it be fixed to the wall as it moved away at times). The Library was an excellent choice and the service, thanks to Daniel from Peru, was the best! The food was good and well presented. I made my own hot chocolate in the morning, so I can't really speak to the breakfast downstairs. The front desk staff were helpful only if prodded to be so...not so much a criticism but an observation. I would certainly return.

Room Tip: Room 53 at the end and on its own landing

From 22.02.13 stayed for 3 nights Fri - Mon. Third visit and even better value for money than before with 3 for 2 offer. we stay here because it has easy links for Central London (District Line from East Putney (Zone 2)) and there are plenty of local restaurants for all tastes. We had a garden room (slight premium over a standard room, and it was very clean, very comfortable and we both slept very well indeed. Only downside is that there is only a shower, no bath. Without exception the staff were all very friendly and helpful, although our waitress at dinner, Marta (who seemed to be about 24 hours a day) was particularly helpful with her lovely smile Another huge bonus is the car park and no congestion charge in Putney so it makes a good stop-over on the way to the South Coast or the Continent.
It is two years since our last visit and there have been a number of changes, not least that the hotel is no longer part of the Best Western partnership: we found the standards higher than before. There is also now a small restaurant offering dinner. Probably no more than 20 places in a small room 'decorated' as a library. The menu has good choices for all palates, but is not so large that making a choice is difficult. Although I only chose beef-burgher with accompanying salad and chips it was of a very good standard and well presented.
Breakfast was extra, but good value with plenty of choice, although there was no assortment of meats as normally found as a breakfast choice in many hotels. Being from near Manchester I found the black puddings dry and not at all to my usual taste.
Overall a great place to stay and much, much cheaper than the vast majority of hotels nearer the centre of London.
Interestingly our next stop was a Premier Inn in Woking and that was just as expensive per night and not nearly as welcoming and comfortable as the Lodge Hotel.
Finally, although we checked out at 9 am on our last day, we were able to leave our car in the car park until the late afternoon while we went into central London - very helpful indeed.

Room Tip: As a converted suburban villa (or two) the upstairs floors tend to creak, so perhaps an upstairs roo...

Good first impression. We were given room 31, which was described as a garden room at reception, however it was no such thing. The room was reasonable, modern, clean, good bathroom but access to the room was was down a dingy corridor which led to the garden but in no way was it a garden room. There was no natural daylight as the window overlooked the corridor, the room was incredibly hot and stuffy even though the radiators were turned off and because the window was in the corridor there was no air or air conditioning either. The rooms in this part of the hotel would be unbearable in the summer so I would want to stay in a different part of the hotel if I visit again. We booked with Superbreak because the rate included breakfast which was a typical buffet, it was the only site that included breakfast. Overall, we were visiting our son in Putney so this hotel served a purpose and would probably stay again for convenience.

I found the Lodge Hotel to be very welcoming and very well run. The libary dining room is the sort of room you would find in a private members club. It is a fantastic setting and staff made us all very welcome. A big thank you to Alberto the manager for going out of his way to ensure everything went well for our anniversary evening.

The hotel is in a great location, about 5 minutes walk from East Putney tube station, and from there about 10 - 15 minutes in to central London. The hotel exterior looks really plush and welcoming and the reception staff were all very freindly. Our room was ridiculously small for the price we paid, it was in the loft so had a sloping roof and could just about house an average sized double bed and dressing table. The bathroom was equally small but all facilities were clean and modern. The room was extremely warm, probably because of its position in the top of the hotel. We had the full breakfast, great spread of cereals, fruits, juices, breads / pastries and English breakfast classics. I would probably stay here again, although I would recommend requesting a room number below 47 to avoid the tiny top floor bedrooms.

Room Tip: Ask for a room number below 47 if you would like a room bigger than a box.

Attracted by location and facilities of the hotel, we were looking forward to our overnight stay. Things started off poorly as were not shown to our room, which was based in what appeared to be a garage extension separated from the main hotel by a cold and noisy corridor. It also was next to the main door to the next floor, so this made it even less private. The bathroom was smelly and with tired fittings, not up to keeping with the room at such price - what a rip off!! Also when showering the water temperature would fluctuate between hot and cold, also had to fight with the shower curtain. This room was no way near 135 a night, for that money you would expect breakfast to be included too. Overall, a very superficial veneer of a boutique hotel with none of the charm or care you would hope for from such an establishment.

Being the excellent boyfriend, I treated my sheila to a couple nights stay here to coincide with an eventful and most romantic weekend stay in the capital.

The hotel is in an excellent location for East Putney tube station, allowing easy travel into the city centre. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a really nice double bed. It was however rather small, as was the shower which offered just about enough space for two.

The room did get quite hot in the evening, and on the second night we had our window open without any heating on- surprising for this time of year.

The staff were good and we both found the breakfast delicious.

Overall this is a hotel I would recommend and be happy to return to.
