My family stayed at #1 flat. It was a 2 bedroom and one bath flat in the basement flat. It was a quiet flat. The rooms are nicely decorated and clean.

I would definitely return to 51 Kensington.

By the way, if safety is your issue. The Iranian consulate is next door. There is a policeman oon duty 24 hours every day.

Usually stay in tiny London hotels with miniature beds and no space to breathe. The suite at Kensington Court made a huge difference - a proper size bed, space to walk around, a decent bathroom and a spotless and well equipped kitchen. If you are a couple or even travelling solo and value some breathing space then I recommend '51' especially as the price was no more than the typical london hotel box size room. On top of that the location is great - one minute from High Street and good transport to all the main areas. The suite was well furnished, well maintained and serviced to a high standard. Dealing with reception is a real pleasure - no grumpy or unhelpful responses - a really nice experience.

We had a family suite with two bedroooms (both very small) with large living/dining area and fully appointed kitchen, one bathroom. We were disappointed that our unit was below the ground floor, but it had a small enclosed garden and it was still pleasant and very clean. Hotel is next door to the Iranian embassy. We watched women whip out their scarves to cover their hair before going inside, and there is a 24/7 British police officer outside all the time. We had a nice chat with one of them, who gave us travel tips while we waited for the hotel to open at 9 am on the morning we arrived. That put us off a bit as we ended up having to wait a half-hour until staff arrived to let us in. They informed us of this in advance but it would be nice if they could arrive a bit early when they know they will have early-arriving guests. Don't bother accepting the breakfast reservation at the restaurant next door -- there are many informal places to eat in the area. In particuar, there is a Whole Foods market around the corner -- very convenient for buying groceries for the hotel and there is a cafe there as well. The atmosphere at the hotel is quite nice, informal, young men and women at the reception and friendly. We were not happy that heat in our room was on and couldn't be turned off and they told it would take two days to fix. When we suggested that we'd be gone in two days and it was quite warm, they did find someone to fix the situation promptly. This is not an inexpensive place but was better value than finding two separate rooms and we enjoyed having the full kitchen for having breakfasts in.

We stayed there for 7 nights from the end of June to start of July. It is the best location, I lived in London for 2 yrs if only it was here, the apartment was clean, and enough for 3 adults. The staff where brilliant always willing to help. There are not many apartments with daily housekeeping which was of great standard. If we come back to London I know where. I will be staying!! Thanks 51 Kensington Court!!

We initially chose 51 KC after reading reviews on Trip Advisor. We stayed in Apartment 7 (Studio Apartment). It was more spacious than expected with plenty of room to move and plenty of storage space - wardrobe, cupboards, side tables and storage for suitcases. While the kitchen was very 'compact' (really only room for one person at a time- but it is a ‘studio’) it was quite adequate, unless you are planning to cook gourmet meals. It had a convection microwave, bar fridge and twin hotplates (hobs) – could have done with more microwave cookware though. We spent 10 nights in the studio apartment and didn't once feel at all cramped. Very secure and relatively quiet surroundings given the proximity to the heart of South Kensington- close to all the good things South Kensington has to offer. 51 KC is just a short stroll to Kensington Gardens and some good restaurants- ranging from haute cuisine to good Chinese takeaway (The ‘Stick and Bowl’ in High Street). The whole foods market and Marks and Spencer is just around the corner, so we were able to stock up on food items or venture out to dine. The staff were extremely helpful, both prior to our stay and during it - nothing was a bother and we felt very welcome here. On the day we left our pre-booked taxi did not arrive and we did not have an alternate cab number to call and reception was not yet open - but Helen, a 51 KC staff member who was just arriving at work, noticed our predicament and offered her assistance, she immediately arranged alternative transport for us and we managed to arrive -just in time to catch our flight; so the service continued even after we’d checked out. The room was very clean and our experience in London was enhanced by staying at 51 KC. We were very well looked after and we'll definitely stay here as our preferred home away from home when we next visit London.

Room Tip: Studio 7 would be less noisy than the front one

We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment and thought it was great. We have stayed in many places in London but will definitely make this our place to stay in the future.
The apartment is as large as you would expect for the location. All fully furnished rooms but obviously in central London things are not massive - this applies to all hotels etc.
It is an old building, so don't expect perfection in skirting boards etc, but everything was clean and well ordered.

Was a fantastic location and this was definitely a key selling point for us as we had a short stay and it enabled us to make the most of our time in London. We left feeling like we had a taste of living the good life in central London. Everything is walking distance including food, coffee, Tesco, M&S, tube etc. Despite location, never had any noise at all and had nice quite evenings.

Felt very secure as an embassy is next door which seemed to have a permanent police presence. Policeman was always very friendly and said hello to the children every time we walked past - kids loved it.
Not a cheap place to stay but we found it a great splurge to end a holiday and well worth it.

We didn't see much of the staff, reception is not manned all day and we were mostly out when they were on. This suited us well as we hate the feeling of being "monitored" that you can often get in small hotels. Also, staff were always good when we did need to contact them.

Will definitely be back.

Location was convenient so if you don't mind small, dark and cold rooms or don't need any help or information from the staff then it's fine. Most of the staff were ok if a little cold but one girl in particular was very rude and arrogant which spoilt the whole experience.
