We stayed at this hotel as our usual one (grange St. Paul's) was full. We love St. Paul's so were slightly apprehensive about staying at this one, but we were really pleased. The location is really nice, tube station on the doorstep and hotel is right opposite the Tower of London. The room was amazing, very big and stunning view of the tower. (Room 1001). We also received a free upgrade to an executive room. The staff were brilliant, every one of them were friendly and efficient. The breakfast was nice but I wouldn't have paid for it if it wasn't included in my room rate. I prefer the decor of the St. Paul's hotel but apart from that I would gladly stay at the Grange City again.

Room Tip: Email in advance and ask for a complementary upgrade if available. Room 1001 has amazing views.

A really lovely hotel, we stayed here on 1st March and had a really enjoyable stay. We booked a luxury theatre break to see Wicked and chose this as the hotel to stay at as it wasn't very far from the Apollo theatre.
We were able to leave our bags at the hotel before we checked in and after we checked out so we could do some sightseeing without the hassle of having to lug the bags around with us.
When we checked in our room was upgraded to an executive room, when we walked into the room we couldn't believe how big it was (pretty much as big as the downstairs of our house).
Only negative is that to upgrade from a continental breakfast to include a cooked breakfast it's £8 which is a little steep.
Room was really lovely and had everything we needed, bed was the most comfortable we had ever slept in, shame we couldn't have taken it home with us. Also good to mention the nearest tube station is literally a 4 minute walk so everything is very close by.
We will definitely be returning for a luxury break, just a shame we didn't get to spend more time in the room, it was really lovely.

Overall this is a good hotel. The rooms are spacious and well maintained. The whole hotel is traditional and so if you are looking for modern chic then I would suggest somewhere else. The breakfasts are good however the chairs in the breakfast room/ dining room need replacing in my view. The hotel has excellent transport links and is very close to the Tower of London and Tower Bridge.

The hotel had great facilities. We took full advantage of the gym, 25m pool, jacuzzi, sauna. however, the pool and jacuzzi were both a bit colder than we would have liked. The steam room was quite dirty too.

All staff were very friendly, and wanted to help. nothing was too much for them.

The room itself was nice, but it was not fabulous and needed a bit of a refurb!

There were two restaurants and a bar to choose from, but only the bar opens for food at weekends, serving standard bar food.

The bar has two sections, one for socialising and food and the other has the sports channels on in the background (SKY and ESPN), which made my sports loving partner more than happy.

Good location as the hotel is right next to tube station and tower of london.

An excellent place to stay. Easy for transport links and getting around town. Pleasant staff. Stylish rooms; ours had a great view of Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. Bed was comfortable and had quality linen. Breakfast was overpriced for the quality; there are some alternatives for breakfast nearby but most are closed at weekends so worth planning ahead.

Room Tip: We received an upgrade without asking.

I have just left this hotel today after a 2 day stay. The reception I received was excellent with absolutely no problems booking in. The staff were all very pleasant and gave a feeling of efficiency in doing their jobs. The room was in good condition and very well equipped with everything you could think of and some stuff you wouldn't think of ! There was a particularly good Bose radio and music station in the room. Wifi was free But unfortunately, I couldn't pick it up in my room. The breakfast was typical of what you would expect in good 5 star hotel with a good range of hot cooked and continental cold foods, cereals, fruit and juices. The staff were under a bit of pressure to serve everyone, but they were very polite and did their utmost to be helpful. There is a bar and lounge just off the hotel lobby which was open till late but not noises at all. The hotel was busy with various conferences underway, so it is obviously popular. The room prices, although more expensive than I would expect to pay in other cities, I suppose we're Ok by London rates. Overall, a good experience and I would recommend this hotel for business trips and conferences.

My one night in the Grange City for a conference was comfortable, but this is not really a five star hotel.

The hotel is very conveniently located for Fenchurch Street station and Tower Hill Underground station.
At check-in, the staff were friendly and helpful, offering a complimentary upgrade to an executive room, which had stunning views of Tower Bridge and the Tower of London.

The room itself was very spacious, clean but with rather dated features. I never did quite manage to get the very old fashioned air conditioning/heating to work. Great TV and excellent shower in a clean bathroom. The usual room features included a safe and less commonly, a well-stocked mini bar. Complimentary bottled water, tea and coffee facilities were also provided. A disappointment was being expected to pay for in-room Wi-Fi in a executive room in a 'luxury' hotel.

The bar was City-style, expensive, but probably par for the course in this part of London, where bankers run up six figure bar bills on a night out during the bonus season. The room service breakfast (always one of my acid tests) was excellent, on time, hot and perfectly cooked.

Check-out was helpful, friendly and efficient. This hotel might be less suited to those with mobility difficulties as there are a number of stairs around reception and the hotel entrance. Modifications have been made to help manage these, but it could still be challenging.

Overall, a comfortable night in a friendly hotel, convenient for the City and local attractions, but not really five star facilities.

Room Tip: Enquire about a complimentary upgrade to an executive room on a higher floor for the best views
