I have stayed here twice for a romantic night away and both times have been impressed with the hotel and service.
The lobby is beautiful and the rooms are comfy and have everything you need and more. I especially love the tv over the bath, great for relaxing in!
Finally I must say the breakfast is the best I've ever had, every single thing on the plate was delicious, even the black pudding which I've never enjoyed previously.
I travel for a living and spend around 50% of my week in hotels and I choose to come here for leisure so that is a testament to just how lovely it is.

We had a lovely weekend at Threadneedles Hotel. From the moment we walked into reception the staff was very attentive. They knew all about the local area and were able to recommend many of the areas restaurants and shopping malls. On returning from our nights out the staff asked about our experiences. This is a great way keep up with what is happening in the city for future guests. We had a very enjoyable time at Threadneedles.

Firstly I would like to say a big Thank You to Threadneeldes - this was our final celebration after a year of hectic travelling and celebrations to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. You took the time to look at our booking form and realise this and consequently upgraded us - thank you.

Check in was excellent. Bags were removed from car and excellent directions where given as to where we would be able to park the car. Our room was spacious with every mod-con that you could ask - especially a TV in the bathroom. I am a total clean "freak" and after much examination the room was given the Liz H gold star for cleanliness.

Unfortunately, my son is an Art Student with an extremely good "eye" for detail and did note a few strange "looks" in our room i.e. why have a couple of lovely pictures which are hidden by a bedside light and a further picture hidden by an upstanding light. These were mere incidentals and did nothing to detract for us from the room and the beautiful comfy bed with gorgeous bedlinen.

The Bar served superb cocktails and nibbles.

Our only concern was breakfast - didn't quite seem to get there act together. Need more than one hot water for tea between three of us and it would have been nice to have been asked if we would have liked a fresh tea bags and fresh water . The children had joined us for breakfast and although three "full english breakfasts" were ordered, no pastries would be available for at least half an hour - unfortunately, we had finished our breakfasts before the pastries were available. Actually, if i'm honest breakfast was very disappointing for £20.00 a head

The location of the hotel- although not in the "heart" of things at the weekend - the location worked well for us with BANK tube station being just a three minute walk away.

Would we go back - Yes

Would we recommend - Yes

We very much appreciate your detailed review. So happy that you chose to celebrate your 25th anniversary at Threadneedles. Congratulations from us all again!
Iole, our Executive Housekeeper was delighted to read that she achieved a "Liz H Gold Star" for cleanliness :)
Your Son does have a very good eye for detail and he is totally correct in what he observed regarding the pictures. This was a project we started working on some time back and some rooms have still to be sorted out.
We would like to apologise for the poor breakfast service you experienced. Our Executive Chef and Food and Beverage manager will be on the case regarding this immediately as it is not acceptable. Thank you for letting us know about your poor experience.
We hope to welcome you back soon and please do contact me directly at that time.

It is a very nice and quiet hotel, we stayed for 1 night during a weekend and wanted to stay more.
Nice room, very comfortable and luxury bathroom, very clean.
The tube is only couple of blocks away, buses are in front of the hotel.
Overall for the price is a very good hotel
Yes, we will stay again.

"All good times come to an end" - so they so, but there is always time for more! So please do come back and visit us again. We would be delighted to have you stay again. Happy to read that you loved the hotel.
Thank you for your comments about transport links to the West end being so easy from here. For your future stays: One New Change - a brand new shopping centre has just opened by St. Pauls and there are also many restaurants and new places popping up all over the City, some of which are also opening on the weekends.! This will all make the City of London much more of a buzz over the weekends.

Very friendly and efficient staff greeted us the moment we entered the building. Bargain rate didn't alter the quality of the room or the service provided, Luxurious room and a very comfortable bed...and if you must watch Match of the Day why not do it whilst resting in your deep, hot bathtub!
The location makes it very quiet at the weekend but with the Bank Tube Station very close by you are only a few stops from the major attractions.
A few minor hiccups with the breakfast at Bonds's but not sufficient to spoil my trip.

We appreciate your review and are so happy that you enjoyed your stay.
We hope to welcome you back again soon and when you return, One New Change, near St. Paul's has now opened. This is a new shopping centre which opens at the weekends. In the New Year, some very good restaurants should be opening in One New Change and these will be open at weekends too. Over the next few years we see the City of London changing and getting much busier on the weekends. Our Executive Chef and Food and Beverage manager are dealing with the hic ups at Breakfast service and we apologise for this.
We look forward to welcoming you back again soon. Please contact me directly at that time.

My husband & I were attending a course at the Mermaid Centre which coincided with our anniversary so we decided to make a trip of it. Having heard of Threadneedles before (from a colleague who got raved about it) and after finding a good deal through LateRooms, I was excited to book a room!

We arrived just after 5pm and I immediately understood why my colleague had like the place so much. The lobby is beautiful with a large domed glass ceiling but also a really homely feel (not sure how they meneged to achieve this as no expense has been spared on the glitz & glamour of the surroundings). We were pleased to be told we had been upgraded (probably because of our anniversary) and made our way up to our room. Because this hotel in in The City, it was pretty quiet & we didn't see another guest until the morning.

Our plan was just to relax in the room as we'd been to St. Paul's on the way to the hotel & planned to go to Tate Modern the next day. And what a great room it was - huge super-king sized bed, lots of lovely pillows, dressing gown & slippers each, complimentary choclates & a well-stocked mini-bar. The bathroom was also fantastic & great water-pressure (odd thing to say perhaps but I love having time for a bath when I'm away from home & the tub filled up within a couple of minutes).

We ordered some food from room service which was delivered promptly & was all delicious but especially liked the Threadneedles Club sandwich. Had a good read of the provided magazines & books, then fell into the best nights sleep I've had in ages. I don't know what the matress-topper was made of but I want one!

Received our complimentary newspaper as planned the next morning & after a couple more hours lazing around we checked-out to go sight-seeing. Great Portugese chap on reception who was extremely efficient in processing our bill whilst simultaneously discussing various European footballers with my husband. We would have had breakfast at the hotel (it certainly sounded delicious) but we were keen to get to the Tate before the crowds.

All in all, a relaxing, restful stay with a luxurious room in a convenient location - exactly what we wanted. Staff at check-in & check-out were excellent - warm & friendly yet efficient.

Would love to go back.
