“Luxurious”
Reviewed March 13, 2013

My husband and I stayed here for our wedding night. A beautiful hotel with stylish décor and comfortable rooms. My favourite part was having breakfast in bed and a luxurious bubble bath. They also offered us complementary champagne as it was our wedding night, which was very thoughtful. Also had complementary newspaper in the morning and got our shoes shined. The location is great but as it's in the City, not much will be open on the weekend. That suited us fine though, as we just wanted a comfy room to veg out in for the weekend.

Well, above all congratulations! So happy to hear that the wedding night was a huge success. One of the positive comments we receive time again is that many of our guests do indeed choose Threadneedles because it is outside of the craze of central London and provides guests with some space and a quieter setting to enjoy London. If you haven't already explored the local sites, you may want to include on your next trip down to London a visit to The Shard, Old Spittalfields Market, and Herron Tower at Bishops Gate which are all just a stroll away from the hotel and fun places to explore. We hope to see you soon on your next trip to London. Kind Regards.

I booked the hotel for me and my girlfriend for a weekend. We arrived at gatwick and getting to the hotel wasnt hard with the tubesystem in London. It was raining when we arrived and when we got in the door the hotel manager was there to greet us. We sat down to check in and got a complimentary drink (water or prosecco). The check-in went smooth and the luggage was carried up while we checked in. We also got a complimentary bottle of water (still or sparkling) to our room as well as a newspaper each morning.

The room was nice. We got a nice clean room with a comprehensive minibar. The toilet was even more impressing, almost the same size as the room. The hotel had an extensive amount of room service options. From rosepedals in the tub to almost anything u can imagine.

The staff was great. Polite and welcoming.

Overall had a great stay! Would recommend it for anyone travelling for a romantic weekend or people just wanting a great hotel to stay in. T

The prices per night wasn't bad either. We payed 1200 NOK a night wich is 140 pounds a night.

Great to hear that your romantic retreat in London was a success. We are constantly working every single day to enhance the guest experience. It is comforting to know that our efforts are noticed and appreciated. During your next trip over you may want to check out Vertigo 42 Champagne Bar which is just around the corner from the hotel. It has some stunning views of London and is a great spot for afternoon tea or drinks. Thanks again for your comments and look forward to your next visit to London.

Booked a last minute birthday treat for my partner via Trivago at a great rate on a non cancellable basis. On check in, whilst quaffing a free glass of Prosecco, we realised I'd managed to book the 8th April instead of March! As the rate was super cheap, and non cancellable, I was expecting them to offer me a full rate alternative, or remove my fizz and eject me, but they could not have been nicer, honouring the booking, finding us a room and even upgrading us due to the birthday. We even had a handwritten welcome note / birthday card from the manager left in the room! The hotel is a beautiful old bank with stunning features in a great location near Leadenhall market. We are normally quite picky, but genuinely couldn't find fault with any aspect of our stay - and that's a first for us!

Wow! Happy to hear that your stay was a screaming success. Hope your partner was equally pleased and that the birthday celebration was equally memorable. This is exactly our aim with every single guest that walks into the hotel, and it is exciting to hear that our efforts are noticed. We look forward to your next visit to London and hope to see you soon. Kind Regards.

Been here twice now once in the penthouse and once in a King double room. Both times myself and my wife have enjoyed our stay thoroughly. Very nicely decorated, spacious and extremely comfortable bed which makes for a good nights sleep. Breakfast served to room and very good portions can easily be shared as we struggled to finish ours. Staff are very helpful and extremely curteous. Only downside is parking, we had to park a mile away which cost £30. Would definitely recommend!

Thanks for taking the time to share your comments and so happy to hear that this was your second successful stay with us. We are constantly working to find ways to exceed our guests expectations and it is fantastic when we learn that we are indeed achieving our goal. It might be worth pointing out that just around the corner from Threadneedles we have reserved parking at Tower 42. In fact this is the same building where you will find Vertigo 42 Champagne Bar which offers spectacular views of London on Fridays and Saturdays for drinks or afternoon tea. On your next visit make certain to give us a call and we can help ensure that your parking spot is reserved ahead of time. Hope to see you soon back at the hotel. Kind Regards.

Stayed here for a 40th birthday 'treat'. Five star it is not. Stylish decor and comfortable bed, but that's pretty much it. The staff try to do their best, but are frankly out of their depth. Room OK, but air conditioning was either ineffectual or broken as room was uncomfortably hot. Shower temperature was erratic, (glass) bathroom door didn't shut properly, aerial on radio was broken, dirty glasses left in room by turn-down staff etc, etc. Attention to detail was completely lacking. Restaurant is definitely best avoided - food is so-so, but service was appalling - our main courses got halfway to our table before starters had been finished, so sat getting cold for 10 minutes before being delivered to our table!

It is always extremely disappointing for us to learn that a guest's experience was not in line with expectations. We pride ourselves on the quality experience we offer all our guests and it is clear that we missed the mark on on this occasion. We certainly want to make this right and hope that you will give us the opportunity to do so as we mentioned in our email and telephone follow up. Kind Regards.

Lovely service/ big rooms/ great bathrooms with both a shower and a bath. Exactly what you'd expect for the price you pay, but nothing above. The foyer is quite impressive though! I have to say the receptionist was extremely nice too. The only con is that the TV in the bathroom was very poor quality and it was quite disappointing once you got in the bath and find out it's not actually working properly. That was a bit out of place in this otherwise lovely hotel.

Room Tip: ask for a room without a view of a wall!

Great to hear that your stay was a success and we look forward to seeing you during your next trip to London. We will definitely look into the television reception in the bathroom to see what is causing the problem. I suspect that this will be easily resolved by our engineering team shortly. Thanks for letting us know. Kind Regards.

Stayed here with friends who had booked on our behalf. Excellent and impressive hotel converted from what used to be a city bank. Very friendly and courteous reception complete with a glass of wine whilst registering. Room was reasonable size and very comfortable. Well stocked mini bar.
Excellent free shoe cleaning service, unusual these days.
Very good location but the city is deserted at weekends.however this gives a good opportunity for walking to see city architecture and a stroll along the river.
I would certainly stay here again.
