“Good hotel in a great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 18, 2011

Stayed here one night and enjoyed, room was fine and nicely decorated, just what you would expect from this type of hotel. Breakfast was fine with a good selection. Would recommend for business purposes and is reasonable for the price due to the handy location. Only let down would be the additional charges for everything within the hotel.

I stay at the Holiday Inn regents Park regularly on Business. It is a good hotel, always clean with good helpful staff.
Food
The Breakfast is good/excellent and worth getting a B and B rate. Evening meals typical Holiday Inn, nothing wrong with them but with so many restaurants around, you are better off eating out.
Location
The location is brilliant – 3 mins walk to Great Portland Street (2 stops from Kings Cross) and a 10 minute walk to Oxford Street. Within 5 minutes walk there are lots of good restaurants and bars.

Rooms
Rooms are good with the rooms on the inside particularly quiet which helps for a good nights sleep. They have the new pillow menu which is good.
They have upgraded the TV’s and are now all Flat Screen High Def, which was needed. Rooms aren’t massive but perfectly adequate with wall safe.

I would recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for two nights beginning our 10-day UK vacation. The public areas were clean, bright and modern, with a comfortable lounge area on the second floor. The bedrooms were reasonably sized for the city and price, with comfy beds, and a nice bright bathroom. I didn't have the full breakfast, but enjoyed coffee & juice in the morning, the breakfast area was bustling each day. I was very happy with the location - tube stops nearby, though we ended up taking cabs to our destinations as we were splitting fares among 4. I did end up here via Priceline, wouldn't have found it/selected it probably otherwise, and was happy with the result of my bid.

this is average Holiday Inn; rooms are good, restaurant is good but not remarkable.
Parking is virtually impossible; hotel is very hard to find, and not close to tube station... but actually fairly central in the city.
They do comparatively good rates; you may get special deal out of season when they very quiet.

I normally don't stay at chain hotels in London, but I put a bid in to Priceline and got this hotel for 15 nights at $100. a night. It was an amazing bargain.

The location of the hotel is very convenient. There are 3 Tube stations within a 5 minute walk, so you have your choice of Underground lines. Oxford Street is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel, with Soho, Leicester Square and the West End just a few minutes further. The outside of the hotel is nothing to write home about, looking very Soviet Bloc, but the interior was very nice. The lobby area on the ground floor, and the bar area on the first floor were both nicely done.

The room was very nice. There was a double bed, a table and chair, desk, drinks fridge, and 2 good sized wardrobes, one with a small safe inside. Given my experience with London hotel rooms, it was quite spacious. It was clean and airy. The bathroom was also spacious by London standards, including, as it did, a tub and shower. My only quible with the room would be that the TV had not been updated to a flatscreen.

I had no complaints about the service - I don 't require a lot, but the room was cleaned daily, and staff was very friendly.

All in all, I would definately recommend this hotel, especially if you get a good deal like I did.

Dear Larbord
Thank you for your kind words about your stay with us in October. I do appreciate it and I am pleased that you enjoyed it.
You will be pleased to know that since you have stayed we have upgraded all of our TVs to Flat Screen HD TVs. These range in size from 32 inch in the standard rooms to 37 inch in the Executive rooms. The upgrade has also allowed us to greatly expanded the TV channel list from 14 channels to 35 + over 50 movies on demand.

Stayed at the Holiday Inn - Regents Park for a long weekend; Friday 3rd June to Sunday 5th June. Location was a 5 minute walk from Great Portland St Underground station.

Arrived around midday however, room wasn't ready as check in was after 2pm. The receptionist offered a speedy check in service which did allow us to check in at that point and then collect the keys later, allowing us to get on our way. Luggage was stored for us by the concierge at no charge.

Lobby area of the hotel was very nice with plenty of seating areas.

Breakfast was included with our room rate however, would have been £15.95. There was a wide selection for both continental and full English. The staff were pleasant in the restaurant however, service was slow to offer and serve tea/coffee. On both occasions, we had to ask for our drinks.

Rooms were comfortable and clean. Bathroom was small but no issue at all. Only request would have been for larger towels. I forgot to pack toothbrushes so I called reception and two were brought to our room promptly.

Check out was busy on departure; wasn't made aware of a speedy check out in place so waited in the queue for around 10 mins, only to be told when reaching the desk that all was fine and we were on our way.

All in all, an excellent hotel and value for money booking through a British Airways package with flights included.

Dear Lynsey2008
Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience with us. I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us.

In regards to the towels we are currently trialling a larger "Bath Sheet" in all of our bedrooms. Once this trial is complete we expect to roll this out on a permanent basis. Please accept my sincere apologies for the slow service with the tea and coffee. I will be sharing your comments with our restaurant team as this is not the experience that I would expect our guests to have.

Once again thank you for taking the time to feedback to us and for your positive comments.

Kind Regards

It's not by any means the best hotel I've stayed at in London, but for someone coming on business or on a budget it's a really decent place to stay. Pretty standard Holliday Inn, clean and comfortable, but without charm or character. I would choose this hotel if you are planning a romantic London adventure, but if you have been to the city a few times before and just want a place to base from, this does very well.
