Good location, quiet street in central london. Easy reach by underground. Rooms are small, bathrooms "plastic cubicles", but then for the price you pay in central london do not expect more....it is safe, they were just installing new frontdoors for the rooms. Be aware wifi is not for free!

The location of the property really couldn't be better. It is 5-10 mins walk from Gloucester Road tube station which is on the Piccadily line direct from Heathrow airport. It is also on a quiet side street and so you are shielded from traffic noise. There are also many many restaurants nearby as well as Tesco and Waitross. Really can't ask for more. There is even an Oxfam nearby if you want to give alway unwanted clothes and stuff.

Yes the room is tiny and the bathroom, even tinier. I had a balcony area, but since it was winter, you would hardly step out. But it does the job unless you intend to stay in the room for long periods. The staff are very helpful and professional. Internet connection is not free but reliable.

All in all, good value for money.

Stayed here for 6 nights at the start of the month and thought it was fantastic for the price. Originally booking a studio apartment for just over £600 i emailed reception much closer to the time and asked them to match an internet special offer which they did. Saved me a further £100. We came by tube - Gloucester Road station is perfectly located on the Piacadilly and Circle and District lines only 5 minutes walk from apartment and only a few stops from central London attractions. Reception were very helpful and friendly and allowed us early check in - much appreciated as we'd arrived from Australia. The apartment was actually a double room with desk and flat screen tv on the wall. En-suite bathroom was in the style of an airplane bathroom, very small but functional. A nice range of cooking facilities and crockery/cutlery well stored within cupboards. Room was serviced daily and plenty of heating - never cold.
The area has a good range of cafes, restaurants and two main supermarkets 5 minutes away. Set a couple of streets back from the main road it is also nice and quiet with no traffic noise. This place is absolutely perfect if looking for budget self-catering accomodation.

Stayed 4 nights, we were out all day every day so didn't need 5 star. Astons was a room, clean, secure, with tiny kitchenette. Somehow they managed to fit a shower, toilet and wash basin into a phone box. No complaints as we got quiet comfortable rest at the end of the day. Great convenience for the Underground, just around the corner, maybe 3 minute walk. Fit for 1 or 2 people.

My first trip to London and I didn't know in which area I should stay, but I finally decided on the South Kensington area as well as the fact that I wanted a kitchenette. I chose a single and
it was a tiny room, but all I needed. It was located on the floor beneath the main floor, but it was very quiet and had a window. The only detractions were that there is really no room for luggage and the bathroom was a tight squeeze to enter and to shower. The location is close to the Gloucester Rd. station which made access to most places in London easy to reach, the neighborhood is beautiful, with plenty of parks, restaurants, grocers, museums and shops within walking distance.

Room Tip: I assume that I will visit London again and I will plan to stay in this area, if not at Astons Apart...

Stayed here for a few days & we were very impressed. Room was spacious, clean and well equipped and the staff friendly & helpful. Some excellent restaurants just nearby, easy access to tube and museums, a very good choice for a stay in London.

Room Tip: rooms at the back are quieter, but it is not a noisy area anyway

I stayed in a single room which was clean and basic, though toilet/bathroom could be bigger. Reception was not 24 hours open but that was okay for me. The staff was really friendly.
The area is really good, there are restaurants (and fast food places), pubs, money exchange, 2 grocery stores and the most important, underground station near and they all are just within 5-7 minutes walk.
So, 3 stars for the hotel room and 5 stars to the neighbourhood and area, that is 4 stars.
