I've stayed at this hotel 3 times now because of it's location and friendly staff. Note, it is not the nicest hotel, nor the most luxurious, but it definitely had location.
It is a short <5 minute walk to Victoria Station, which is a hub for transportation (trains, tube, buses) within and outside the city of London. Also, there are lots of amenities nearby to the hotel. Right across the street, there is both a Le Pain Quotidien and a Pret A Manger. At Victoria station, there is a Boots as well as other shops where you can get basic items.
Additionally, the area around the hotel has cute little restaurants, breakfast spots, pubs and more within a 2 block radius. You can't beat that, especially if you're getting in late or early.
Lastly, there are a couple theaters near Victoria Station. On one of my trips, I was able to catch a Wicked, which was tons of fun!More
