Description: A little gem right on the Holloway road close to Highbury and Islington station. A lovely little independent, shabby chic, arty and very relaxed restaurant serving food cooked with passion for food. The menu changes frequently following the seasons but continually with French cooking as the heart of the menu. With the addition of daily specials there is always more to explore as the charcuterie which provides you with imported French gourmet products such as cheeses, saucissons and cured hams (Also available to buy to take out). There is also an extensive all French wine list with 16 wines served by the glass to suit every taste. We use locally sourced products and only the best ingredients (local butchers etc) At the back is a fantastic walled garden ideal for spring and summer times.

Have now been here a couple of times and every time we are pleasantly surprised. It may look like a two bit cafe but it serves food that is fantastic and would not be out of place in any of the Islington fine dining establishments. The menu is simple but clever with lovely ingredients cooked in interesting ways, French food but not fussy.
The garden out the back is lovely and a nice quiet escape from the hustle and bustle of Holloway road.
I highly recommend this to anyone who would like a great meal in Islington.
The wines are very good too with some interesting smaller French wineries featured.

A little gem just 5 minutes from Highbury & Islington Station – this unassuming little bistro restaurant has an inventive and original menu; we love the mackerel, orange, radish and green leaf salad – it really works – and their “boards” are generous and fresh. There is also a varied and delicious wine list, and also a dizzying list of weird and wonderful teas. The service is personal and friendly, and although seating inside is limited, there’s a great quiet courtyard garden out back with plenty of seating. Best of all is the price; value for money is incredible, and we have had many a delicious 2.5 course meal (sharing a desert!) and a bottle of wine for £60.My only hesitation in recommending it 100% to anyone who loves great food, wine and service, as that it won’t feel like our little secret find for long !

How pleasant to find a great new place to eat at the lower end of Holloway road.. A shame we didn't we find it earlier.

A simple bistro run by charming and kind staff. The two course lunch for £9.90 was a steal and absolutely delicious.
We shall be back and back again

La Muse is one of those very small rather anonymous restaurants, which just deserves to survive and be a success amongst tourists passing by and locals who should support real quality food on Holloway Road. Bad fast-food joints surround La Muse and therefore you might miss this little French pearl. However, do yourself a favour and enjoy a meal at La Muse and support local quality cooking. Simply because it tastes so good!

I ate at La Muse 3 times in July 2013 and was VERY satisfied with lunch as well as dinner. La Muse serves classic French dishes – nothing too fancy, not super classy or posh – just plain good French food, served with passion and kindness.

The onion soup is marvellous! The fish and the steaks are done to your specific needs and tastes awesome. The selections of beer and wine are good and in the general it is quite astonishing to taste, just how great food can come out of a kitchen so small!

If the weather is good, sit outside in the back garden, where there is peace and quiet.

My most heartfelt and warmest recommendations go to this little pearl of a restaurant, its passionate owner and the lovely staff. Will definitely return!
