“Mmmm......ok....”
Reviewed October 11, 2012

Arrived for a one night stay...was greeted at reception by friendly staff given our room number and to the room went.On opening the door was slightly surprised to see no windows in room just skylight but had seen previous reviews on here..this was not a problem for us for one night. No milk was in room when we arrived so had to find staff to get some.

Room was quite small although we were allocated a room for three...again this was ok for one night.

On getting up in the morning my husband found a compass of all things at the bottom of the bed under the duvet questioning whether the sheets had actually been changed this was mentioned at reception on check out and we were given a £10 voucher...but the point was to me the bedding hadn't been changed this is totally unacceptable....reception did apolgise and said they would have a word with cleaning staff.

Breakfast was ok continental..toast, cereals, yoghurts, meats etc.

Would we stay here again.....mmmmmm probably not...

We stayed here because we found a good deal and it was close to the underground. When we checked in it took a couple of minutes to find reception( it a bar also!) then we get to our room it was very modern looked great until you got to the bed. It was so hard. The first night i couldnt sleep it was too hard that I actually slept for the whole time on the floor. I do have to say that the shower was unbelievable. That was the BESt part of the experience. Like the people before said the staff was not very friendly, kinda rude and talked down to you. Had no idea where anything was, if we wanted to know about a resteraunt or directions they pointed us to the computer terminal.

I stayed in this hotel for only one night and on arrival I found the staff on reception to be friendly and helpful.

The hotel itself is located on King St across from the Iceland Shop and beside KFC it is about 5 minute walk from Hammersmith Underground Station (with connections to Piccadilly (blue) and District (green) lines) and it is easily within walking distance of Shopping, Pubs & Restaurants and The Hammersmith Apollo where I attended a concert.

The room was clean and tidy it was a bit tight around the end of the bed and the wall but that didn’t seem a problem to me the Bathroom was well lit and of good size with a good shower.

The bed was comfy and I slept well, there was Tea/Coffee making facilities, Hairdryer and a Safe in the room. I found the room to be well controlled by the air conditioning, I opened the window when I got to the hotel because it was a bit warm but it soon cooled down when the air con kicked in. (the window in my room could open fully if you needed it to but also had the safety latch to restrict it doing so if needed)

On arrival I was given a Password for my free wifi for my phone or any other device I had and also there was free internet use in the lobby/reception area which I used to print out my boarding card, I must say a big thanks to the person on reception who helped me to print it out.

I had breakfast which was a continental with Cereals, Toast, Jam, Fruit, and a selection of cold meats and cheeses, it had a good plentiful selection of food and the staffs were helpful. Check in/out was straight forward and easy.

I would stay at this hotel again when in London due to the location and its friendly staff.

We chose this hotel because of its location close to family and because Hammersmith is well served by 3 subway lines, including a direct from the Eurostar station.
This is quite a modern hotel but has several faults.
The first are the noisy doors to the rooms. They slam shut and when you have 5 doors within a few yards it can be very noisy at 2 am. Secondly the bathroom is so modern with blue lights at floor level, but unfortunately the lighting to see oneself in the mirror is very poor.
We also observed a security issue. You can enter the first floor of the hotel without being seen by the reception. We noticed that the police were present to respond to a problem.
Finally the breakfast was very plain and the room had several tv screens blaring away.
Very clean rooms and friendly staff.
The above remarks were also filed with Best Western without reply.

Room Tip: Choose because of proximity to family or friends

What impressed us so much about this hotel was the 5 star service standards in a 3.5 star establishment.
We had an initial problem with a bed in our room. We could have been told to just cope... but the staff rectified the issue immediately and this laid the foundation for a very comfortable 4 night stay.
The decor is excellent, the rooms are slightly more spacious than you would expect in London. The breakfast was most adequate, location in the heart of Hammersmith is good for tube/bus services.
The hike from the High Street up stairs to the reception is odd but countered by the excellent reception staff.
A hotel that punches above it's weight!

The decor is sublime - excellent interior design with lovely colours and beautiful vistas on the walls. The bed was very comfortable and the carpet a delight, both in terms of softness and coloBreakfast is varied and generous, and staff helpful and friendly. I can't wait to go back and try out the other two Seraphine hotels in London!
