“Fantastic Building, Fantastic Views”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 17, 2012

I have tried to visit the Gherkin on a couple of occasions as part of the London Open House Weekend, but have never been lucky with the ballot.
Therefore was very pleased when I found out that my company had booked one of the syndicate dining rooms on the 38th floor for a business event and I was requested to attend.
And it was everything I hoped it would be with virtually 360o views of London.
It’s absolutely worth it for that alone, and if you get the opportunity, Go !.
But as we used the Searcys club facilities for a business event I should report that the facilities and service was very good, with the possible exception of the lunch service, which was shockingly slow (you would have thought they were bringing the food from the basement and not the kitchen in the middle of the 38th Floor.)
But frankly when you have views like you have, in the building you are in, who cares about a lost hour…

“on top of the world at the Gherkin”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 19, 2011

had an opportunity to visit the Gherkin with some family who were visiting from south africa
normally you need to be a memberr of searcys club but an opportunity came my way. It all
needs to be prebooked you cannot go in casually and security is very very tight which is a good thing in reality. lift takes you up to restaurant level where you deposit your coats etc
then a short walk up the wonderful bar level which seems to be something like a stairway to the stars - something very impressive. the bar area is relatively small right at the very top
with a breathtaking view over London. d rinks are rather expensive to be expected but not a nut accompanied anything all had to be bought extra. however overall a truly memorable
experience must be the best view over all london. visitors thought it marvellous..

“Lovely building to work in”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 20, 2011

We are lucky enough to have a small serviced office in 30 St Mary Axe (Gherkin) building - we chose this over the other landmark buildings in the area (Lloyds, Tower 42, Heron etc.) as it just felt "right".

Having now been in there for a few months, I can confirm the building is a very nice place to work. Views to one-side, the security and shared facilities are excellent. The highlight, obviously, is the 38th floor private members area, the 39th floor restaurant and 40th floor bar. If you ever get a chance to visit any of these, do take it. I visit several times each week and the views are just amazing.

I'm guessing from the number of visitors taking photos outside that this building is becoming a tourist attraction of sorts, which is great for what is effectively just an office block.

Anyway, full recommendation for this "attraction".
