We stayed here for one night. We stayed in London for a total of 5 nights...luckily only one night in this place.
It was our last night in London and we booked here to try out some different Hotel and because the price was ok. The other four nights we stayed at the Hilton Olympia (check my review).
What a mistake in the end. We should've stayed at the Hilton again (even it's a little further away, the Hilton was a great deal!)
The Hyde Park Suites are very close to the Hyde Park and to two subway stations (Bayswater and Queensway). Location is pretty good then....but that's it for the up-points!
The "Lobby" is on Iverness Terrace 55, but depending on your room, you might have to move to another building to find your place. Some rooms vary very much in size also.
The Check-In was pretty fast, but also pretty unfriendly....not rude, just not nice at all. We first got a room on third floor. But that one had broken windows and the wind blew in...so we asked for another option. Then we got a room on fourth floor (no elevators btw, and the stairs are narrow!).
That room was ok. Not dirty, but also not that clean, just basic. No aircon, just a fan and an electric heater (the heater started to fall apart, so I didn't dare to use it). There's a kitchenette....but there's so much good food in London, we didn't need it. Bathroom is small, but clean. The bed was pretty small also and not really comfortable. Just ok for one night...not more. The bed is right at the window...so prepare yourself for a cold night. Since the windows and walls are paper-thin you might have trouble sleeping. Or just get drunk and knock yourself out. The night was pretty chilly and loud from the streets early in the morning. The curtains were extremely thin, so the daylight came in almost unblocked in the morning. But we wanted to leave asap anways.
When we checked out (Unfriendly again), we stored our luggage in their small luggage room. Come early, before it's full! There's nobody at the "lobby" during the night. Shift starts at 9am. So if you want them to keep your stuff show up then.
When we came back to get our luggage, the room was packed until almost under the roof. There was no assistance to get my stuff. So I had to dig, move lots of other poeple's luggage to get my stuff. Free work-out, but not a great service.
For the same price we stayed at the Hilton and were very happy. Like I said, the location might be further away, but they have a really good standard and great service.....very clean and quiet rooms too. You'd better check in there than stay in the Hyde Park Suites. We definitely won't stay here again. For this price you get better deals.
